Some Kawaii Adventures and updates

Last month I got hit by some cold bug it lasted around 2-3weeks, It was like the cold was not wanted to leave me, between that root canal , skin reactions to a cream or a soap thing and then pulling something in my bad has left me a bit of a glitter hot mess. However trying to get back to doing kawaii things or pottering about once I summoned my energy I took a day out to the Kyoto Friendship Gardens in Edinburgh. As the Sakuras are in blossom and did not want to miss out on the chance to enjoy it fully ( I always end up missing them!)

Really a Princess

Yuno as I write this I sure do not feel like a princess.
Am in sweat pants and a jumper okay the jumper is baby pink and cute as possible while I nurse myself with some dreaded Con Flu . Which is why I have some time to blog about this.

My newest adventures of late have been becoming a Princess, Well a cosplay/ costume princess. Years ago I never dreamed of putting of puffy full sized over the top dresses. But it did happen thanks to meeting my cosplay sister last year. And then we had this crazy idea of doing more Princesses together.

SugarPill and Limecrime Valentines sets

So this is kind of a late post but hey let's get to it...Valentines often bring out a fair amount of cute limited sets, So when Lime Crime and Sugarpill announced the sets they were bringing out , I saw the colours and fell in love with all the red tones that were used. However cause it takes a fair few weeks for any of the UK stockist to have them or on the other hand the shipping from the company direct it takes ages to finally get my paws on them. I also favour getting the brands within the UK to avoid customs.

So lets have a look at Sugar pill. This is a Eye Shadow Pallete that comes with 4 large size pans with really nice and ( my go to colours) am a sucker for those red shades. The set also comes along with a liquid matte lipstick is a stunning shade and cause they came as a set I had to have it . The eyeshadows are soft and buttery and the colour pay off is really good . I also have used these shades for Blush , Contour and Highlights so its a pretty usable pallet for me.

Barry M Haul / Review

As some of you cuties now, I do love the high street brand , found in most boots and super drug stores. Barry M. I saw that they have a few new products that clearly needed to be tried and tested. I raised an eyebrow to the new lipstick liquid to matte kits. As you all know I adore a good liquid matte, so had to give that a whirl, while I was at it I picked up my normal Barry M make up items and thought why not throw together a haul/ review on them...
So lets check out the items and my over all thoughts on what I think of them.

Adventures at Capital Sci Fi Con 2017

February was a fun month. It was pretty busy which is why there was a long time of my blog being quite and such. The run up to February was weekends full of promoting a charity convention for CHAS. Out each week with my friends and cosplay family in our cosplays. promoting , meeting the public and collecting money!
Finally the event came , it was so different to last years one. this time I was meeting not only the street team cosplayers that I had the pleasure of getting to know over the past few months and making new freindships and bonds but also a lot of cosplay friends I had not seen since September last year!

Disney Haul - Things I got from Disney Paris

So if any one like Haul posts and cute stuff here is the post for you , the things I got at Disney. On the whole I was completely gutted at the Disney village and the shops in Disney if I am being honest. The prices I felt were higher than normal ( but then it was 2 years since I was there.) The big disappointment was even though there we were there on a Tsum Tsum Tuesday...NO TSUMS were found for that release. To be frank they barely had any Tsums! I was gutted . I in the end did by 4 Tsums, mini ones of Donald, Minnie and Mickey in the polka dot outfits and as last time I got a Medium size Donald I this time got a same size Daisy for him ..yuno can't leave poor Donald all alone!
I was so gutted missing out on the Aristocats Tsums! I did check online and poof they were all gone I am going to check some stores but looks like I may have to call in some of my Kawaii shopping skills to buy me Marie's Brothers ( the ones I really wanted!!) Or Pay for them at double or more on Ebay ... or wait for Clinton cards to sell them. Am still hunting for a mini Beast Tsum too. Gutted.***Update I got the ones I wanted and more from a pop up Disney store in the next City!***
So that was a utter fail for me. Last time there was HUNDREDS of Tsums in every shop there it was heaven! But this time it was like the rejected unwanted ones or the ones that you can pick up with ease. So annoying. Any how the medium size Daisy seems to be non- available in every store I have looked and online so I was happy to get her.

In Disney Paris in Kawaii style 2017

Getting up at the crack of dawn did not seem so bad when booking the holiday. At least it means getting more time of day one in the park when arriving! After running around checking all is in order getting a last minutes large case cause I just knew - I would need more space!  All outfits planned out for both us girls and that extra space to buy some Disney jumpers  or clothing - see what did I say about needing the larger case. It was a case of hop in the car, on a bus, on a plane, on a bus and thank goodness - we got in the hotel checked in, dumped out stuff and hit the park, well as quickly as possible can be a task as our room was so far off and it was a maze getting from the room to exit hahaha.

Any way... Welcome to the most magical place in the world. Leave your worries at the entrance and enjoy the magic of Disney!

Trying a Lace front Wig

Hey there Kawaii crew.
Hope you are all good, so todays rambling post is about me trying a lace front wig for the very first time. I have been wearing wigs for 6 years now and I love my wigs and everything about them. Don't get me wrong though I have had a few horrors along the way and some very bad choices when I  have picked out some wigs. I mainly use risky ebay ( it is always a risk when it comes to ebay .) Cutesy Kink is a other store that is great for wigs and fast shipping.

Any how Lace front wigs. I took months humming and cooing over which one to get in the end I settled with a ebay seller I  have used many times in the past . I picked a blue black ombre to pink wig .It was a long length one and curly in style.  Now the lace front wig is a wig with - well you guessed it a lace / mesh front. Which you cut off up to the hair line, making it a more natural looking wig over all. It also frames the face nicely and some have multi hair parting options ( mine did not its a middle parting but I have managed to shift it a little off centre.) I don't actually have a hair parting as my hair has a mind of its own and does its own thing ,which in turn makes my hairdresser cringe when I walk in.

I got mine and fell in love with the colour! So pretty!

I really like the dark roots as it blends better with my natural hair for the hair line. However the wig was like a 24 inches and I took my battered scissors to it and hacked off about 4 inches . I love long wigs but I wanted to make this something I should work with every day kawaii and not need to worry about tangles as such. Cutting it was not to bad when I did it and I also gave it a quick wash to remove any lose hair strands . I left it to dry naturally and it kept all its curls and shape. The main difference in a lace front and a normal wig is the lace bit you have to cut off. Cutting the lace part was easy enough though I made sure to take my time as the wig was just under £35 with free shipping. I really don't want to mess it up and have to send it wig heaven just like that.

Sooo my experience with my wig wearing it first time was on christmas day, I have popped it on a few times for selfies- cause I had nothing better to do with my time lol.  I found that I really enjoyed wearing the wig the main thing was there was no tight tension around the hair line which can give me a head ache with cosplay or fashion normal wigs . I wore it comfortable for about 12 hours and didnt need to adjust it at all. I also didn't use any lace tape or glue which I do have but I want to get a longer wear out of the wig and might use some of that at a later date but the clips held it pretty much in place the whole day! The other time I wore my wig was a few days in Disney Paris. Again I wore it pretty much all day but then I had not so much fun time  as my face broke out and around my hair like making the lace front itchy along the hair line and upsetting my skin even more. However the wig did stay on even with going on thunder mountain and stayed pretty much in place. I did get annoyed with my wigs parting but I think in general I was kinda annoyed as my skin was playing up.

Over all I do like this wig , I adore the colours in it. It has been a learning curve as I never used on or had one and I know now to pick shorter lengths and side parting styles over the middle parting ones. I also would say that I will for sure like to try other wigs and brands as well as get my hands on a few other colours and styles.

It's 2017, Lets make it cute!

It's that time again to reflect on the year and put some new plans for the next year. May they be dreams or plans. Maybe an event here and there.

This year has been pretty crazy for me. I have enjoyed it for the most part. I have had some stress's and bumps along the way like every other cutie out there! But I made it . No. WE MADE it! I did not know what 2016 had in mind nor did I make many plans myself .  However I did reach a few personal goals on my part and I also had a fun year of sponsored reviews and events. I also had a great time this year cosplaying. Meeting new folks and having lots of fun. I also for the 1st time in ages had a wonderful birthday. It was one of my highlights. Yup -billy nea mates here ( cause all my mates are no where near me or online.) Any way it still became an day and I felt so blessed to spend it with my own sister who knows me better than I know myself.

I did some crazy things this year. I shaved off my hair...( ever wonder why I was wearing more wigs of late haha!) I took part in a inflatable 5K fun obstacle course ! I also had an amazing opportunity with Cutesy Kink where I designed my very own wig line! I would love to expand on that one day but who knows what the next few years will hold!?  I did more modelling and photos shoots this year , I hope that this will continue well into 2017. This year I was fully accepted into the awkward mom crew at school (LMAO!) am classed as the Kawaii awkward one .  I now go out on mom dates! ( whats that all about!?) Maybe I will blog post about those dates some time . Its like so strange to me haha.

Back in April, my busiest month  I was a guest at a Gaming convention, Which was the most amazing thing ever. I keep all my memories from it treasured even though I lost my voice  and I was granted to be press at over conventions. I was at so many conventions this year am not quite sure how I managed them! I was also invited to a few events in London but alas being the Kawaii Mom I have my restrictions!

I have also enjoyed the company of my dear friends who have stuck with me this year and loved meeting brand new ones who I also hope will stick around in 2017!

To round up the near end of the year I put my energy in to helping out a local lot , made up of cosplayers and the most friendly bunch of geeks/ nerds/ costumers/ cosplay folks you could ever meet. This lot with the help of the organisers and team from CHAS do a road show collection to raise money before the event they hold where all profits go to CHAS- a children's charity. The group together get out in the public eye and raise as much money as possible and then at the event - which is a sci fi ( but not limited to sci fi ) Convention. I have had the pleasure to join at many of these collection days and its win - win. You cosplay , you enjoy it , you meet folks and hang out with such a fun team and its all for the children who need our support and help.

Over all I think 2016 has been kind to me. I feel very blessed to have had such a well balanced year. I hope that 2017 will bring more new opportunities , new things such as events and much much more!
I also wish each and every one of you a wonderful kawaii happy new year .
