Conventions so far this year.

So this year, its my year of conventions this year. Starting off with a Edinburgh based one called Capital Sci Fi Con. Which you guessed it was mainly about all things Geeky and Sci Fi. For this Con I made up a (Fem) Darth Vader Causal Cosplay. Which was really weird for me cause I had not idea how I would act or be like as Vader . I mean am a huge fan of Lord Vader but yeah am more your magical hero girl than anything like that . So that was really weird for me. However I did get to meet up with tons of fellow cos players whom I have not seen in ages and hang out with my deco girly pal too. It was also super nice meeting new folks at the Con as well as hanging out with those I already have mingled and chilled with before.

Hey girl, where you been? Its Convention time!

Hey, ah-ha so I know am super lacking in blog posts. But I do this for a reason. I want to blog about interesting things as well as doing reviews. I think going out and doing things makes a blog post interesting instead of living behind the computer screen and blogging every day. Also I have my 'To Do List' written out and this is at the top of it . Not to mention every other thing I still have to do or tie up with lose ends. Any way! If any of you wanted to know what I've been up to,  then here it is.

This Month is the start of conventions for me this year and since the start of the year I been working on ideas to cosplay at Comic conventions that are local to me. I am missing so many this year due to a wedding on the other family side. (Yes am pouting about it. Not Kawaii at all but gurl gotta stand up for her thing yuno. *Kawaii bitch right here*) So thanks to this family event I will be missing at least 5 days worth of conventions, with the way travel has worked out and such. Pretty gutted. So might as well take the chance to enjoy all the local ones as much as I can.
(Am also getting a kawaii outfit to wear to the wedding btw as an attempt to make up for missing these conventions so yay!)

The 1st convention I was at , was Dee Con. I been going there for 3 years now and every time the event gets so busy and so many turn up for it. I was working as press coverage for Cyten.co.uk and you can see my write up  and soon ( PROMISE) video footage I  have been fighting  working on , for youtube. It was rather crowded but thankfully the weather was cloudy but dry so most of the time I spent outside . I got to meet up with my fellow cosplayers and fashion friends and had lots of fun. I was in cosplay as Ash, from pokemon. I was super shocked to have many ask me if I was ''Tartan from youtube'' and being asked to have my photo taken with them. A very odd and surreal experience for me!

The next  convention was Edinburgh Comic Con, which was something I went to last year under a different name. I went more for fun and to see if much had changed, This year there was so many other folks . Much more busy than when I was there. So much more cosplay too.
I cosplayed as well - more of a causal cosplay to be honest but it was lots of fun. In the space of five mins I was being asked to have photos taken and then to have this most of the time while at the event. It was very odd. This time I took my poi even though the weather was showers and windy . I kept hope to use them. Which I did. Over all the event was lots of fun.

Talking of poi, this is something I just started doing for maybe for 2 months now.
I wanted to learn something new, I saw fire spinning and was amazed by it, poi is the same thing but no fire. I got a few sets of poi now , tails , scarf and LED ones.
I was super lucky to learn a few moves to use when the sun came out at the event so I braved the chilly weather and got not only a stunning photo by a photographer but some footage of me spinning which the link you can find on my youtube video of the event.

So yeah I have been pretty busy and I have so much to catch up on but thought it was time for a blog post!
Any way here is more photo spam for you all! Till next time, laters.

Dee-con 2014

Hello every cutie!
Last Saturday was the day of the Event of Dee-con. Scotland's largest Free comic convention. I went to the event last year. It was my 1st ever convention. And because its near by I decided to get myself along to the event.

Since last year I have connected more with other like minded convention goers so I was very lucky to share my Train journey with a sweet Lolita .

My outfit was Black shorts in a dungaree style , bunny knee high style tights with a Heart Blouse and blue blazer and red cat ear hat with Red matching High tops. Thankfully it was not a rainy day for the event just a few showers here and there.

The Event did not Start till Noon and was located at DUSA Union. Which was a mere 5-10min walk away from the Rail Station. The Event covered 5 floors. From Artist Alleys, Retro Gaming, Card Gaming and merch-stalls. It is way to easy to spend to much money at these conventions. How ever I was very good and only spend a little amount of money.

When we arrived we were stopped by a local Photographer who wanted to take our photos. I was only wearing a simple but bright outfit and was rather shocked to be asked. I agreed to have my photo taken as did my Lolita friend. Both together and on our own.

As we got near to the main building which housed the event, the queue was intense. It must have double back on its self a few times. We must have been in the queue for 10 mins waiting and then a further 10 mins getting in to the place.

It was packed,As soon as you walked in. I explored all the levels and checked out the stalls, The Artist Alley is the bit I like a lot and I picked up a few pieces from the same artist as last year.  The Lay out was a bit more flowing than last years apart from the lowest level, for some reason its so packed up.
I found myself standing for 5 mins trying to move,I have no idea why this happens even last year it was packed and you felt stuck and unable to move. I retreated to a higher level of seating area to get some photo's.

Outside was the best place for photos. Am sure a lot of cosplayer's took this as a advantage to get some photos take of their outfits.I really should have hung about outside to meet more people and snap some shots.

I noticed there was much more going on this year than to last year's. There was a great atmosphere too. I spotted many Lolita's from the local community, each one was dressed so well. I noticed and recognized some cosplay.

Overall it was a good day out, its a great convention for any 1st time convention goers. I do regret not getting more photos and footage, but there is many more conventions to come. I did not stay till the end but there was also a after party for later in the evening.

During the day there was some  Anime films being shown that you could go in and watch. There was lots of Arcade Games to play, Table top Games were set up  and even some retro ones. A area of Games development and even talks such as '' Being proud of your inner Geek.'' Also there was a Kendo Performance Display and a Cosplay Masquerade and competition . So You could easily stayed on till the early hours of Sunday with the after party!

After my attendance of Dee-con I went into Dundee city itself, I spied some other con-goers walking through the city shopping malls still dressed up. They got many strange looks from on lookers.

Dee-con is a good sized convention, its nice to have a convention near by. I would say its a great convention to attend for your 1st time and then a great way to meet up with others who have the same interests. Its a nice way to ease you into the cosplay and convention world. Once you get the bug for it, that's you hooked. I was waved down or called over to say Hello or for a chat by many kawaii readers and folks I know of via facebook and on my blog. I was so shocked by this and quite overwhelmed. Every one I met was lovely. I look forward to next years and for my upcoming events. I hope to see some of you again and meet new faces of Kawaii! So watch this space!

MCM Glasgow Comic con 2013

Hey every one, hope you are all well and staying Kawaii! On Saturday was the 1st Scottish mcm comic convention.

It was my 1st mcm to date but not my 1st convention. It was a early start for my day out, rushing about and packing up and dropping little chibi bean off at her Grannies, I fear, she is far to young and little for such events and would not enjoy herself. Also I would be in Mummy mode and I never have asked any one to take her for me to go out for a whole day.

So any way because we (Hubby and I )bought early tickets we headed off pretty early. I was going to cosplay but as I had been so unwell I was far from the mood of cosplaying. So my outfit was just casual and comfortable, also I was planning to take lots of photos.  And in genral have a nice day with Hubby. We got there in one piece but made 2 wrong turns lol. Thank goodness we had the Sat Nav!

We were very lucky and got into a line waiting for entry, It was not to long a wait maybe about 20mins.
I took my time around the event, I was impressed with  what it had to offer lots of merchandise to buy!
There was a lot of cosplays , some really great ones too,I love to see the effort of others how put time and effort into them and see them having fun,I got to meet a few interesting Characters. Also I got to see my gal aka my fellow HK BBF at her stall selling at Jazzy Little Magpie I didn't get a photo of her Stall because it was so busy and we also chattered a lot lol! She totally rocked it out in her Batman dress! I did borrow her picture though!!

Kitty Maid fun

Hello every one today I wanted to show off my new Hello Kitty items which had a Maid theme to them.
Yay!\(^_^)/I discovered some really cute aprons that I fell in love with and got them ordered. I have been wearing them for all the cooking and cleaning and they are just so cute! They are both from Harrods, I used a shopping service to get them.I also caved in and got a plush too, There is one plush I would love to get from Harrods but am not sure if they still do them any more?!

A cute Cafe maid I got!

Full body apron

Hello Kitty as a maid!

Harrods!

Cute!

Half apron from Harrods

However there is a other reason for all the maid stuff and Kitty-ness, Is that am planning a cosplay for the Scottish MCM as Hello Kitty /Maid style . With the events of the San Deigo Comic con there was a huge Hello Kitty and Sanrio presence, I was gutted about knowing about this at the last moment! It was not till after seeing the Musical Wonderland Hello Kitty that she was slightly ahead own of my own cosplay idea!

Lol its kinda funny but maybe this shall work in my favour when it comes to the event,
Hello Kitty looks so cute! She is a darling!
My cosplay is gona be so like this with a few extra Hello Kitty touches!
Here is a sneaky look into my outfit!

Adding Hello Kitty iron patches to the apron!

It still needs some touches added to it, am thinking with no maid headdress just a bow, A pinky wig and some cute Lolita shoes-I may have to invest in a white petti and cute tights and gloves to get the over all look.
I will be sure to update you on my outfit! That way you will all be
able to spot me at the MCM in Glasgow!
