Hey girl, where you been? Its Convention time!

Hey, ah-ha so I know am super lacking in blog posts. But I do this for a reason. I want to blog about interesting things as well as doing reviews. I think going out and doing things makes a blog post interesting instead of living behind the computer screen and blogging every day. Also I have my 'To Do List' written out and this is at the top of it . Not to mention every other thing I still have to do or tie up with lose ends. Any way! If any of you wanted to know what I've been up to,  then here it is.

This Month is the start of conventions for me this year and since the start of the year I been working on ideas to cosplay at Comic conventions that are local to me. I am missing so many this year due to a wedding on the other family side. (Yes am pouting about it. Not Kawaii at all but gurl gotta stand up for her thing yuno. *Kawaii bitch right here*) So thanks to this family event I will be missing at least 5 days worth of conventions, with the way travel has worked out and such. Pretty gutted. So might as well take the chance to enjoy all the local ones as much as I can.
(Am also getting a kawaii outfit to wear to the wedding btw as an attempt to make up for missing these conventions so yay!)

The 1st convention I was at , was Dee Con. I been going there for 3 years now and every time the event gets so busy and so many turn up for it. I was working as press coverage for Cyten.co.uk and you can see my write up  and soon ( PROMISE) video footage I  have been fighting  working on , for youtube. It was rather crowded but thankfully the weather was cloudy but dry so most of the time I spent outside . I got to meet up with my fellow cosplayers and fashion friends and had lots of fun. I was in cosplay as Ash, from pokemon. I was super shocked to have many ask me if I was ''Tartan from youtube'' and being asked to have my photo taken with them. A very odd and surreal experience for me!

The next  convention was Edinburgh Comic Con, which was something I went to last year under a different name. I went more for fun and to see if much had changed, This year there was so many other folks . Much more busy than when I was there. So much more cosplay too.
I cosplayed as well - more of a causal cosplay to be honest but it was lots of fun. In the space of five mins I was being asked to have photos taken and then to have this most of the time while at the event. It was very odd. This time I took my poi even though the weather was showers and windy . I kept hope to use them. Which I did. Over all the event was lots of fun.

Talking of poi, this is something I just started doing for maybe for 2 months now.
I wanted to learn something new, I saw fire spinning and was amazed by it, poi is the same thing but no fire. I got a few sets of poi now , tails , scarf and LED ones.
I was super lucky to learn a few moves to use when the sun came out at the event so I braved the chilly weather and got not only a stunning photo by a photographer but some footage of me spinning which the link you can find on my youtube video of the event.

So yeah I have been pretty busy and I have so much to catch up on but thought it was time for a blog post!
Any way here is more photo spam for you all! Till next time, laters.

The Sake - A Japanese Performance

Last weekend I and my sweetie Hubby went to see The Sake - a Japanese performance that was on at the Edinburgh Fringe. I knew about the show as there as a preview performance on stage when I was down at Hyper Japan.

So when we found out about this and it being on our door step we made sure to book some tickets , the baby sitter and went to on our way. I was not completely sure what to expect as the we only saw a small preview on the Hyper Japan stage all the event said was it was a story and performance with lights.

These are all photos from Hyper Japan, from The Sake preview. Which I really enjoyed so I was looking forward so much to seeing the full length show. The Show is a Story , through music dance and stunning dance with drapes and ribbons.

The Story of the Sake takes you through a year of the season in which each season there is the aspects of elements that are used to make the Sake. The performers are all stunning and the narrator is charming witty and drunk ( acting btw.) sake brewer . The Spring has light images projected  of the Cherry blossom season where you watched a stunning dancer , performing with grace and beauty which then led to the musician using something  that looked like some kind of metal drum. That created the sound of rain that soon led to a down pour and that's when we meet more artists who used ropes and outfits to represent the elements of the Thunder and Wind gods of Shinto.

It was utterly jaw dropping stuff. This was when the Bass and guitar players start playing music to complement the mood of the Ropes spinning at top speed with the dancers on them. - Kyaa!!

Soon next came the next month of Autumn and  and the light hearted fun came into play with our narrator chasing the cheeky mice and getting people from the crowd to come on stage and par take lessons from him wielding the sword to deal with the mice snacking on the Rice. Soon after we get to admire the ' Magic' that is then performed  to make the Sake well.. Sake.  hehe which was just magical to watch.

Derpy me and some of the Cast Performers.
After some fun and entertainment of magic the Winter comes into play, where we meet more of the Elemental Gods of winter and possibly Frost while the sake ages and brews. Again a other stunning perfomace with dance and music . As well as this one performer who was spinning and dancing with only 2 pieces of  long thick ribbons from the top of the stage.

It was a very interesting performance and show I really enjoyed it very much it was just magic, As much as love the Kawaii aspect and fashions from Japan, I have a huge soft spot for the much more traditional side of Japan.

After the performance, I went over to greet the Narrator and the Cherry Blossom dancer , I thanked them for a lovely show ( using my broken Japanese haha.) And said how we heard about them . The Cherry Blossom dancer was tickled pink with this and she was UTTERLY STUNNING! She even offered me a gift of signed post cards of her after hearing we saw them at Hyper Japan. Which then got others talking and wondering who I was to get a slightly different treatment than them! Which was kind of funny.

If you ever do find out that this show, The Sake is on near you it is so worth checking out!
Till next time!  Kanpai!!! *raises a Sake Box*

Back to being a Kawaii Mama and life again

Hey guys - how are you all?
So what's new? I have not done a Blog post in a while. I have been visited by the charm of mother nature - which have dragged me down and am back to the reality of the School Runs of being a Kawaii Mama. *sigh* Which has left me limited to blogging. See this is why I adore the school holidays I can get everything done! And not need to worry if I can get away with being Super Kawaii and having them odd looks from the other mums, in saying that am finding that they like my bright pink lippy , so I guess am braking them in slowly - heh-.

Do you ever feel that cause you love cute stuff or anything in this matter , that you have to tone it down around others cause your not up for explaining every single time that its just your style? I don't have the time to explain or express at 8am in the mornings while dropping off a 3 year old who likes to refuse to go into the class and then abandons me as soon as she see's her play pals. I just don't have time too. lol! I need to head back and use the very little time of freedom to blitz the house and tidy it up.

Over the holidays, I have been having fun with events and lots of play time with my daughter and spending time as a family its always nice and sometimes stressful. It also gives me a chance to explore and have some fun with Kawaii fashion with out getting the odd risen eyebrow from other mothers and have started up my You tube videos again - yay! On my You tube you can get enjoy my Kawaii Character Videos ! I hope to do as many as I can and try and do them every weekend. when I have the time too. Please Check them out if you like! Here is the Link!

The other week I went to a Alice in wonderland themed Cafe  which was a nice change, Its a nice place in Edinburgh City I was taken there are a treat with my Sister while we had been shopping.

I have a few photos on my Instagram from being there so check it out! Its a cute little place, that has bits and pieces form the Alice in wonderland movie and films. Such as a Table and Chair on the ceiling, The red queens rose garden and art from the movie's in frames that are all topsy turvy. It's more of a tea room than a cafe and plenty of brews to pick from the selected menu. We only had time for a rose lemonade and cake!

So while keeping busy I am also know contributing to a UK website full of interesting and up to date information from Games to Anime called Cyten worth checking them out! I will be their Kawaii lifestyle contributor along side Kawaii fashion Queen and cutie Aisha Anime! www.cyten.co.uk

I have a few upcoming projects and events at least these are a bit more spaced out that the start of the year! But I will be attending MCM - Scotland in a sorta attempt of Cosplay , keep a eye on my Facebook to find out some clues for this! As well I be at the Scottish Gaming Expo and  Aunchinawa this year.  So if you do spot me and wana come say Hello then be sure to come on over I don't bite and I will have my Camera on me too. Oh and am only 2 units away from completing my Photography course and I have some projects that I will be needing some models for! which is really cool too!

So yea sorry its a bit of a dull post but I thought maybe you all were bored of reviews and such and would love to get your feed back on the stuff you wana see, hear and know about on both my blog and you tube since am using both much more than I did in the past! - huhuh-
So till next time Laters

Cherry Blossoms and Treasure hunting

Hey there every cutie, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a very eventful one, myself. It also was a lot of fun too. I went Cherry Blossom hunting and later went Treasure hunting or Geo- Cacheing with my friends.

I got lots of lovely photos to share with you. I hope that you like them. I returned to the Japanese Kyoto Gardens near by and got to see so many cute Cherry Blossoms in bloom.

I really liked getting such pretty images and seeing all the trees looking much more full that my last visit!
Its such a enchanting place. You could easily forget that the City is near by.

I also went out geo-cacheing for the 2nd time, but now I am signed up and have an account to log my finds when out looking. I went to a neighbouring sea village and got 12 cache's on my trip and came across many pretty images I had to snap away. Its not the most Kawaii hobby but it was fun doing something as a team with my friends. I wanted to share the images I got from my trip.

I hope you like my photos, I took I really like the Abandoned Sofa image on the beach.
I can not wait for the day where all my images relate to Kawaii or Japan. huhuh!

A bit of a Geeky Weekend .

Hey every Cutie,
How are you all? Last weekend I went to a Edinburgh Convention called '' Something Bl**dy Awsome''.
It was a small convention to what am used to. However it was a interesting one as it was all Sci-Fi and Super Heros.
I went along for out of sheer nosiy-ness and two, Photos. To my own disappointment, I did not get as many Photos as I wanted but the day I went. However it seems that the following day was some what more busy. Oh well. There was only a few or a handful of Cosplayer's and again they were all Sci -Fi ones or Hero's. And am more of a anime gal. So it was a bit awkward for me.
I ended up meeting a other photographer who I got chatting to which ended up chatting to for a good few hours. So I did enjoy myself. Maybe I needed to come later on in the day or try the following day for photos. But you do not know what these things are like until you get there. I was to meet my friends once I been to the event as we planned to go Geo- Cacheing. Yea it was a bit of a geeky weekend haha!
So with both of my friends armed and set with the GPS and their coordinates, We went hunting to find these Cache's. We got a only a few of them as 2 we could not find . This was my 1st time doing this and really just tagged along. I have a feeling we might head back to find more in Edinburgh.
While we happen to be near by a Cake shop called Bibi's .I got myself a really yummy Cup cake to eat on the way home and and a bunch of HUGE Macaroons in a box to take home( for family.Huhuh... I don't like not returning empty handed and kawaii-less haha!
Any way I thought I would share with you the photos I took- So please do enjoy them!

Kyoto Friendship Gardens

Located in Scotland you can find a touch of Japan . Lauriston Castle has a area on its grounds that is called the Kyoto Friendship Gardens. Once I found out about this Place I had to make a small trip as its not that far a drive from me. I packed up my Camera Kit and set out to get some interesting photos.
Unlucky for me I was still to early for the most of the Sakura's to blossom, some are still bare. Or maybe I have missed them am not quite sure but the Garden was lovely enough to explore and enjoy.

It did feel a bit strange, Like I had stepped into a piece of Japan. I would like to go back and try and get more creative images, As for the cherry blossoms I was pleased with the images I captured.
