Taste Japan

Hey every one , How are you all today . Are you enjoying the wonderful summer like weather well today I am happy to share  my newest review* of a subscription box from Japan. There is so many of these but this one here is direct from Japan, By Taste Japan.
The box only costs you £15 and that includes your shipping and is a monthly sign up subscription which takes 1-3 weeks to get you your door. This box with a name being Taste Japan is a food box full of Japanese sweets candy's and other yummy items.

I got my box and did a video of me well tasting the products and showing you the unboxing but this is my blog write up with all the links and such to find to get your very own box each month.

The Taste Japan box came in a standard brown box wrapped up and full of goodies , which I might add were full to the top of the box you get a fair amount of items in the box and many kinds from biscuits , gum and candy/sweets. With your items you get a information sheet telling you all about your items and even some interesting facts about Japan - like a News letter.

Here is a image of the box it came in.And these are the items that I got in my box! It was full to the top of goodies and lots of snacks! It was a range of items , some chocolate, candy, gum and biccy's . Items with interesting flavours and quirks.

I liked all most all of the items apart from the coffee flavoured chocolate- ew!
Which you can see my reaction of on my video of my unboxing below also. I was not very keen on the gum or the spicy rings but I could eat them if that makes sense?
I liked having such a opportunity to try many new items from Japan!

What I like about this box, is it is what is it a box of items from Japan for you to try , those who run the box try to get some unique items and such for the box as every one can get hold of the normal candy and sweets from Japan . So I quite like that quirk.

Hyper Japan 2014

Hyper Japan! The UK's biggest Japanese culture convention. Held often twice a year in London.
This year was my 1st time at Hyper Japan. Something I saved up for and put aside my time just to go. I am going to spilt up my post in two, Day one and Day two. Because there is so much to show and tell. I went both Friday and Saturday. (Blog post is image heavy )

Day One:t ( A run through of what to find and discover at Hyper Japan.)
Wow , even over a hour or so before the event there was a queue, the sun was belting down on all those in the queue and it was so hot! Any way once the doors were open it did not take long for the room to fill up, in no time there was people everywhere. The first thing you are greeted by is the huge character Chopper , signs for each area hanging from the ceiling and a sea of vendors. One main stage at the right rear and 2 smaller stages. Each one full of performers, music, fashion and even someKawaii robots. To be really honest I did not know where to start so as there was so much to take in.

There was a huge Games area from Arcade games to trying out, the WiiU and the 3DS. Am pretty old school with my consoles- lol- So I gave my best at having a go of the newer consoles and failed miserably. It was pretty fun, there was a lot of hard core gamers and so much going on in this one small area of the event. If you went walking about that area you had the chance to meet and greet Mario, Luigi , Pac-man and Pikachu Mascots, I missed Pikachu...I was so gutted but never mind! Please excuse my bad photo of me with Mario and Luigi, Hubby took it and my face is hidden in shadow! - eeep-

Game's were not the only high technology at the event! There was a on screen Domo Kun ( a Japanese TV mascot for the Channel NHK,) that you could get your photo taken with and a small section of the most adorable looking robots ever to. Adding to the musical element was Hyper Vocaloid.

Kawaii Mummy-Ideas for little ones fun meal times!

Hello every Cutie and Kawaii mummy out there!
Today I will be letting you into some of my Kawaii secrets for ideas for little ones meals! Yep this is a post for all you kawaii Mummys out there!

Some times it really hard to get our little chibi-cuties to eat their meals - we all have and all will go through this stage or stages of them not wanting what we put in front of them...huhuh. But don't worry its only a phase,So please don't stress your self's out, I found after stressing out over wasted food and tears. That you just have to go with the flow!

So today I thought that I would share these ideas that  would be at least a a few ideas for food for your little chibi's! Am going to start off with the idea to pick super cute cutlery plates and cups too, I have found all cute characters in your local supermarket from Hello kitty to Mickey mouse. It's good to pick the characters your little one knows of to help make it look all about more encouraging and appealing for them to use.

Or why not get it in lots of rainbow colours in your cutlery! We have lots or pretty rainbow shades of forks and knifes in our kitchen drawer that I bought from the seasonal out doors summer sections (plastic picnic sets!) Such a clever idea! This some times really helps encourage little ones to use their own cutlery .

Preparing food-

The other idea I like to do is with the use of being a bit arty and kawaii is with the use of the cookie cutter, you can come up with so many ideas with simple shapes to kawaii character shapes! If you don't have a Cookie cutter even using a scone cake cutter can make circle shapes or why not just cut up the food in to shapes.

Say good bye to dull square toast in the morning's and say 'Hello' to Kitty and some '' Love'' heart Marmite toast- yum! Its me that likes the Marmite

Top- Tip ,If your little chibi is old enough , let them help get meal times ready! It can be very stressful if you are in a hurry but if you can give them the time to help , you may find they enjoy eating something that they have made for them self! It can be as simple as spreading their own toast!

As well as using cookie cutters, mould trays bento rice moulds can all be used to create a interesting looking meal. Why not decorate the meal on the plate and make a picture too?!

Encourage little chibi's to take part in making the pictures however sometimes the cute food pictures might not work so try cutting food up in small pieces or even grate food. And with a bit of imagination, who would say no to a Cheese (Grated) hill. My chibi loves to grate her own cheese.

Making food look fun can make it super Kawaii too! It's all about presentation!

Why not find food stamps with shapes these sandwiches look soo yummy!
Oh and don't forget to cut up the ham, cheese fruit, veggies to go inside the sandwiches too!
You can find lots of ideas form bento box websites and all over the internet , take what you want from the sites and apply it you your own ideas as it do not need to be all about Japanese food, you can pick the foods you and your chibi's love to eat and make them look so cute.
Home pack lunches for the little ones and Kawaii lovers alike will love these ideas or  why not make picnics out and about  kawaii and use bento food pickers or dividers will add lots more fun and cuteness to meals! Oh and dont' forget to make sure your lunch containers are cute looking too!!
For some encouragment for chibis at school pack lunches check these cute memos to add into the lunch box for them Link here!
Till next time!
