What is your Kawaii fashion identity .

Fashion. Its a vast world out there full of fashion, main stream to sub fashion. To High street trends to the trends in High-school and Collage. Finding your own fashion and style is very interesting path. Over the years I have tried many styles , some suited me and many didn't. Eventually we find our place in fashion and learn what we like and dislike. I have not done a personal post in ages so I finally got round to my thoughts on my fashion Identity and how is changed over the past 4 years.

A few years back I ventured into Lolita it didn't last very long for me, I understood the guidelines and the rules of dressing in such a fashion but I found it didn't fit my personality or my lifestyle. To this day I still love it ,I admire it on others and adore it, But not on me. I love those who wear it and when I see groups of those pretty frilly enchanting creatures, when they are on a meet up. My heart fills up just admiring them all.

However when I looked to other fashions. I found them not quite to fit me being  a bit dull and not so kawaii from the UK high street trends. I turned to J-Fashion and the sub styles even then, I knew what I liked but never quite found what style I fitted into so I guess I just call it Harajuku inspired and Kawaii fashion.  I found Decora and fairy kei to young for me , I found Gal styles a bit over the top - I really could not place the name for the style, I wanted to embrace with myself with .

It was about 3-4  years ago I started to find more quirky looking clothing online and mixed it with my own tastes to slowly build up a collection of my style, it is still being worked on as I write this, as am far from finished.  I call it Kawaii Fashion ...well its under that umbrella.
What I can say is I have really moved away from wearing greys and blacks , now am 90% colour- yay! I used to be into Scene and Goth in the past - I do also like those styles but favour more Japanese street style to those, mind you I think every one dips a toe in those styles down the fashion discovery path. However the inner rock chic in me sometimes surfaces every now and again with a hint of gothic.Old habits I guess.

I am on the forever hunt for a style that screams Kawaii that can be both toned down and up! I look for happy colours and lots of pink. I am in love with pastels ,something I would never wear in the past. I also have learnt to tone down my looks and outfits when I need to and when I need to let a kawaii explosion happen on a simple outfit. I much favour comfort and causal when it comes to items I pick and choose from. I even love to play about with makeup and go a bit crazy with it.
Sometimes and lets be real about this , here in the UK you don't always get to wear what you want ,all the time. So many pass judgement or it just not seen as appropriate.  I tone down to fit in with situation and tone up when it comes to meet ups, seeing friends and events or if its on Tartan Kawaii business. Its a useful skill to have.
I count myself lucky cause,I am comfortable in whatever I wear and if I get looks form others - well, I get looks am happy being in the styles I like toned up or down. So I do not worry about what others think. Yup I will find a way to sneak in some Kawaii or style if needed I will bend rules if the situation comes about mind you I do have become known now , at the school run for bright high top trainers to  those rock chic leather jackets.

Accessories ,I love the use of accessories and think those can be your best friend if you are wearing something simple . I firmly believe they have the power to complement and bring Kawaii to an outfit. Mind you I do struggle to find more mature looking Kawaii items and ranges. This goes to outfits and fashions as well. It's like once you hit your early 20's to mid 20's your not seen as Kawaii anymore or its not a market for companies to take an interest in. Just a head up- we all get old! And I, for one am staying Kawaii even when am a old wife, btw with my leathers and blue rise hair its a style I will rock well! So even though I have had to hunt high and low to find the right sorta style and accessories its not stopped me being Kawaii no matter what my age. I also stopped trying to look baby looking or aiming to look younger than what I really am. Hey, I thought at the time it was a good idea of eternal youth but since then I got back on my own game and stopped looking as young as possible and embraced my new mature Kawaii self. The answers to the game guess Tartan's age are all off and no one can guess my real age , such a mystery lol! I have fallen in love with some cool kawaii accessories over the years and like your indie style brands I have a big love for Tarina Tarantino, Loungefly x Hello Kitty, Japan. L.A and  The Rougue+The Wolf.

It is funny with all this hunting you come across many companies and retailers on those paths and then with outfits . You find out how to change your style of make up to match in with it. For a long time I was natural shades and a ton of eye liner and a full face of make up every day. Now every day its a BB cream, brows done and blusher and my fave lippy in a shade of pink. ( I am loving JSC and Splash LA pinks.) This is for the every day casual look I aim for when am in the Kawaii Mumma mode. But I will put on a full face when it comes to events, and such. I want it to last all day, yuno.
I am enjoying so many make up brands just know, such as Lunastick Comestics Labs, Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Make up Monsters , Sugar pill and Concrete Minerals. Mainly animal testing free products and some are vegan too. I also adore my Korean and Japanese Products too but then I maybe a bit of a sucker for Kawaii packaging - lol.

So this is my Kawaii Fashion Identity. I like to dress up Kawaii and am happy. And to me that is all that matters. If you like to dress up in a style and fashion and it makes you happy. Then be yourself and do it. I see my kawaii fashion like my armour. It helps me take on the day. Even if its a lazy day with bed head hair and I throw on my Hello Kitty oneise and a full face of make up answering the door to the postman who has brought me something new and cute in the post. No cares there lol.

Kawaii is not just one type of Fashion or Colour Pallet

Hey every cutie, am sure that all of you know that ,Kawaii is used in many kinds of fashions.

source Google
But have you noticed it gets more of an association on more fashions than others, Lets focus on J-Fashions, There is so many kinds and many sub fashions. But have you noticed once  these reach out of Japan and slowly make their way to the UK there is  are only a few main ones that stand out and some even stay in the UK. Some times Trends come this way but they don't last as long as they do every where else.

source Tumblr

Am gonna pick a few like of Sweet Lolita, Fairy Kei and say Hime Gyaru. Okay so I may or may not have picked  some fashions there because they are all often have the use of Pastel shades.
It did not take long for then Pastel shades to also become kawaii, I have no issue with that at all. These colours and styles seem to be a bit more accepted in the alternative fashions and in the UK, But what about all the other  brighter

Fashions. I wonder if  and why they are being left out?
With so many styles getting more attention that other ones ,you often find these  Lighter colours will come up on a Google search more often and tagged a lot more on tumblr, than the other colours, I guess I wanted to share that Kawaii is not just one Colour Pallet or shades, its every shade and Pallet. Its also can be in every fashion and style.

source HawaiiKawaii
I wanted to do a post on more colourful , brighter and more Creative styles of Kawaii. Personally I wonder why many do not wear these sort of fashions -

Is it because the UK in fashion and in the public eye, is not very brave to stand out and be Brighter. Is it because we are to wear dull colours to work/school and get so comfortable that we forget about a splash of colour? Or are we scared to stand out from the crowd and be different? Are we scared to look like we are clown's escaped from a circus? Can we wear Kawaii and Bright Colours together? Maybe we are to mature to wear something that might look childish to on lookers which is why Pastels are easier to wear and not stand out as much.

I know am very lucky to be able to wear what I want  more a less every day but even I find I end up wearing darker colours at times.
source Goggle

But because I have made a promise to be more colourful in outfits and more kawaii maybe my post here might inspire you. Its also very easy to do is well ! But let's get some inspiration form the streets of Japan where I think we can at least pick a few ideas and adapt them to our own styles.

I guess most inspiration comes from Harajuku Fashion trends, then adapts its way into other fashions. I can imagen that there is new and wonderful ideas coming from there all the time. I love seeing the styles that are colourful in primary shades of colour (Red Blue and Yellow btw.)

There is lots of over the top and layering in some Kawaii fashions but you don't have to do this you can make your outfits kawaii in a simple way and can you can bring in brighter colours with this too.

candykisa.tumblr.com
Mixing styles together is so much fun too. What about Pastel shades with Street styles or Adding brighter tones to your normal Lolita wardrobe? Do you have any crazy accessories or items that you could easily use or even re-vamp to use. DIY Kawaii and hand made are a huge thing over in Japan fashions too.

What do you think? Do you think Bold colours will make a come back. Do you think Bright colours are Kawaii or not? What are your thoughts is Kawaii limited to only girly pastel shades or your imagination is the limit .

But remember , Wear what you enjoy wearing.

Fluffy nail art...Kawaii

Hey there you cutie's.
I hope you all had a great weekend, I had such a busy one that am so tired, I need to catch up on some 'ZZzz'z' but I sure did have some fun. Today I wanted to find this cool and fun
nail art effect, there is a lot on the market and in high strret brands in the shops but I saw this and was like ''Kyaa its so Kawaii!''
I used my BarryM nail polish for my night out at the weekend so I still had it on when I got this magical little tub of Fur-effect nails by MUA which was about £3-5 ( cant mind of the top of my head the price- as I got 2, and 2 new polish's.)

It comes in a little tub .

You can add it to your nails,as it says on the back with the shaker seen here in the above photo.

Or you can take the shaker part off and paint your nails and ''sprinkle'' the fluffy fur on it.

I found that I had to really pack it on my freshly painted wet nails to fully cover the nail and by placing a sheet of paper under my hands. I could catch the fur that escaped as it was a bit messy with fur every where!!

I have BarryM Dragon Fruit shade on underneath.

As you can see at first they are super furry but they lost their puff as I didnt push the fur into the wet polish to well, But I since washed my hands many a time, run a bath, dishes and lots of cleaning and the fur is still on! Not only that but its still super soft to touch too.

So am really impressed, I got this hot pink fur in colour and a cotton candy one too!
I cant wait to try that one out too!
Hope you like my fur-tastic find for new nail art fun!
Till next time!

The Queen of the Gothic Realm

Lady Amaranth is a Alternative Gothic Model,She is the most elegant beautiful woman I have ever seen in my whole life,I came across her work through the online shop,The Gothic Shop then on many other pages,
I became a fan on her Facebook and have been amazed by her work,no work is not the work its Art that she has produced and its the most stunning Art ever !
>w<
I contacted Lady Amaranth and asked if she would be kind enough to let me feature her and her work in her Blog,I was so excited to get a lovely message back from her saying it was quite all right to do so,Bless her.

I give there the title The Queen of the Gothic Realm she is well known among Gothic Fans and Goth's.
She has a portfolio that has such a vast range of Gothic Fashion to Fantasy images.Every piece of Art she has done is wonderful.I can see why so many new Models wish to be like her.
Lady Amaranth has also been featured in many well known Magazines such as Unscene,Alt Fashion and Fea Magazine.

You maybe wondering why I picked Lady Amaranth,To me she is a inspiration and through her work she has shown that Gothic Fashion has such beauty in each photo.
She can take on any theme and make it work.

Lady Amaranth has attended the WGW (Whitby Goth Weekend) in the past,A small sea side village that holds a Gothic even twice a year. This place is a place where I went for many years on holiday,I hold it dearly in my heart with the sea side and Gothic tales of Ghosts and even the Dracula walk,Its called to many Goths,Fans and know Models over the years.
I'm actually surprised I never met her down there!?
 >__<

Whitby was the place that got me into the Gothic Scene when I was a Teenager.I bought My 1st Spiked Dog Collar there with my Dad (Still have it!) and then many Gothic outfits,So I find that with having this old fondness of Gothic wear and new interest in Lolita it makes it easy for me to mix the two to create lots of ideas for my own outfits.

I also think that Lady Amaranth can even do her own Lolita inspired work with ease,as she suits Lace and Ribbons with her Gothic outfits and her Make up is done so well with such detail and skill. Not only is she a model she is a Web Designer and Writer too.
So here are some Pieces of her Art I wanted to Share with you.

(Please note I do Not own any of these Images these belong to the Photographer/Designer and Lady Amaranth.)

''Gothic Fashion has gone from its post punk roots, through velvet and fishnet and now many people incorporate historical elements into it.
I find each evolution has something to offer and for myself particularly indulge in the more elegant variations.
Many of my outfits actually contain Elegant Gothic Lolita pieces, and I will always wonder into stores and sites selling the style as I find the attention to detail and quality tends to be far higher than some of the high street Gothic brands.
However, I’m not too keen on the more colourful pieces or those that tend a little too far towards a child/doll-like image. While it is visually stunning, and can make for beautiful themed photographs, they wouldn’t me my choice for normal attire.
Lolita fashions, to me, imbue the wearer with traits that don’t match my artistic expression and is indeed a scene unto itself.
I have found though, that the cybergoth and UK Goth scene in particular have also adopted some of these “cute” fashion statements.
Bright pink being favoured, as well as handbags made from toys even while the rest of the outfit may be of a more traditional Goth fare.
This juxtaposition is perhaps a statement that the wearer is not wanting to be seen bending to the conventions of their scene by adopting this idiosyncrasy.''
Lady Amaranth

These pieces of Art are only a taste of what The Queen of the Gothic Realm has done you can find all of her work by her and her Photographers at her Website,Her Facebook and why not send her a Tweet.
