Dee-con 2014

Hello every cutie!
Last Saturday was the day of the Event of Dee-con. Scotland's largest Free comic convention. I went to the event last year. It was my 1st ever convention. And because its near by I decided to get myself along to the event.

Since last year I have connected more with other like minded convention goers so I was very lucky to share my Train journey with a sweet Lolita .

My outfit was Black shorts in a dungaree style , bunny knee high style tights with a Heart Blouse and blue blazer and red cat ear hat with Red matching High tops. Thankfully it was not a rainy day for the event just a few showers here and there.

The Event did not Start till Noon and was located at DUSA Union. Which was a mere 5-10min walk away from the Rail Station. The Event covered 5 floors. From Artist Alleys, Retro Gaming, Card Gaming and merch-stalls. It is way to easy to spend to much money at these conventions. How ever I was very good and only spend a little amount of money.

When we arrived we were stopped by a local Photographer who wanted to take our photos. I was only wearing a simple but bright outfit and was rather shocked to be asked. I agreed to have my photo taken as did my Lolita friend. Both together and on our own.

As we got near to the main building which housed the event, the queue was intense. It must have double back on its self a few times. We must have been in the queue for 10 mins waiting and then a further 10 mins getting in to the place.

It was packed,As soon as you walked in. I explored all the levels and checked out the stalls, The Artist Alley is the bit I like a lot and I picked up a few pieces from the same artist as last year.  The Lay out was a bit more flowing than last years apart from the lowest level, for some reason its so packed up.
I found myself standing for 5 mins trying to move,I have no idea why this happens even last year it was packed and you felt stuck and unable to move. I retreated to a higher level of seating area to get some photo's.

Outside was the best place for photos. Am sure a lot of cosplayer's took this as a advantage to get some photos take of their outfits.I really should have hung about outside to meet more people and snap some shots.

I noticed there was much more going on this year than to last year's. There was a great atmosphere too. I spotted many Lolita's from the local community, each one was dressed so well. I noticed and recognized some cosplay.

Overall it was a good day out, its a great convention for any 1st time convention goers. I do regret not getting more photos and footage, but there is many more conventions to come. I did not stay till the end but there was also a after party for later in the evening.

During the day there was some  Anime films being shown that you could go in and watch. There was lots of Arcade Games to play, Table top Games were set up  and even some retro ones. A area of Games development and even talks such as '' Being proud of your inner Geek.'' Also there was a Kendo Performance Display and a Cosplay Masquerade and competition . So You could easily stayed on till the early hours of Sunday with the after party!

After my attendance of Dee-con I went into Dundee city itself, I spied some other con-goers walking through the city shopping malls still dressed up. They got many strange looks from on lookers.

Dee-con is a good sized convention, its nice to have a convention near by. I would say its a great convention to attend for your 1st time and then a great way to meet up with others who have the same interests. Its a nice way to ease you into the cosplay and convention world. Once you get the bug for it, that's you hooked. I was waved down or called over to say Hello or for a chat by many kawaii readers and folks I know of via facebook and on my blog. I was so shocked by this and quite overwhelmed. Every one I met was lovely. I look forward to next years and for my upcoming events. I hope to see some of you again and meet new faces of Kawaii! So watch this space!

Stay cute or die trying!

Hey cute things!
I hope you are all well. Last November I took advantage of Black Friday thanks to online shopping and found a shop called Stay Cute or Tokyo Hardcore on Facebook.
Any way I was delighted to get my order in the mail today! This time of year I have so much coming in the mail from orders for Christmas form family or to family,Birthday gifts for chibi bean, stuff for the house and your daily stuff, that you use all the time and the I've just ran out of it stuff.... and  of course My own kawaii shopping for the blog - oh boy the post man is super busy!! No wonder am broke so quickly at midway through the month!
But hey once everything is out the way this month I can use next year to save up for a 3DS and a DSLR and a class I want to sign up for next year !

Ah the Kawaii Life its a hard one.*nods* So lets get on with my un-boxing from Stay Cute.

My Parcel took about 2 weeks to arrive to the UK. Which I more a less expected and it was easy enough to order.

I was a bit disappointed to find that my order was not really presented in some way, However the main thing is that everything was safe and sound in the box.   I was happy to get my order as I had been looking forward to it.

It was the slogan  Stay Cute or Die Trying that I thought was so funny espicaly when my excuse for every thing is '' Aww but its cute!'' And I say Cute and Kawaii all the time haha!

I got myself the very cute snap back hat, It has Stay Cute on it with a dripping style text and a really nice clash on the hat with the flowers. Which works really well together. The hat is really good quality and made well and looks great when worn with my normal hair and wigs.

I went for the top in a bigger size as I love my over sized style tops and you can layer them in winter to keep you cosy! I really like the top its got 3 quarter length on the sleeves. Again the top is made well and really good quality material and the printed texted on it is super clear.  And looks really trendy on and works well with the Hat too!It make a really nice overall look rather street like looking but still sweet and cute at the same time.  Over all am very pleased with my order.
I took a while to customize my wigs so that I had really puffy looking hair , so I might do a small video of that once I get myself a new tripod for filming.

Tartan Kawaii x DiDepux Collaboration Project

Hey Cute things!
I have got some exciting news to share, I and the talented graphic designer and Jewellery maker Di Depux got together with a Collaboration You most likely have seen the finished products on Esty and Facebook!
Shop here!

I have been wanting to be able to have something, that shows my love for Japanese fashion inspired from Harajuku and Japanese street fashion, something that would make a outfit complete.I know, I can doodle ideas but was lost when it came to making this dream into a product or a reality. I also had lots of ideas but not the know how to create them.

It was not till I became a customer to the Esty shop that belongs to Di Depux and taking a leap of faith by asking what they thought of my own ideas. I have been knocked back and rejected before. So I was ready to take it again. However for once I got a reply of interest I was not only shocked but overjoyed that the fact some one took an interest!!!

So over the past few weeks of chatting with the lady from Di Depux and watching the items progress. Seeing the sneak peek and then to the product that will be sold only at Di Depux on Esty,It has been very exciting! I have been so happy to be part of this collaboration and think we make a great team!
So I wanted to share you the progress from start to finish!

The idea was 3 hearts, Trinity hearts . My past love for all things Kawaii  as a child , My present obsession and the dreams of Kawaii that are yet to come, the future!

My Doodles that I minded to keep and scan in.  I wanted to have this as a necklace as I feel a necklace can give a bigger statement than any other piece of jewellery when it comes to fashion.
And what better way to have your own name on it!

As you can see the design developed really fast. From my imagination and drawings it didn't take long to create the sample of the product. Which when I  saw this,I was so excited ! My dreams of this project were coming true.

I loved the fact we tried to get the font to match my drawing on the last one sample in the picture.
After this is was time to pick out details such as colours and small touches.
When I saw the finished products I was in a Kawaii Dream, they look perfect it was like the Di Depux knew what I was after and saw my potential in the design. I was so happy.

These are the final pieces, You can even change the colours to your own personal liking and change the text to a name or word. How cute and cool huh?!

''Trinity Heart's'' Collaboration with Di Depux and online Blogger of all things Cute and Japanese, Tartan Kawaii.

Inspired by the trends and fashion from the streets of Harajuku and my life-long love of staying kawaii (cute in Japanese.), I came up with the idea to design an image to be able to express this through the use of Jewellery accessories.
The Hearts represent past fascination, present obsession and dreams of the future. This relates to the passion of Kawaii Culture from Japan. This is only available at Di Depux.''

This project means a lot to me as its proof that dreams can come true if you keep on trying- no matter how many knock backs you get. I really would love any of the Blog fans or friends who also adore Kawaii and J-fashion to get one of these necklaces! I  hope you have liked seeing the behind the scenes of the progress of my project and I cant wait to see you all wearing them!!

Is Kawaii hitting Topshop?

Hey Cuties,
So its not very often I will buy Glossy Magazines. I normally will pick up Hello Kitty or Peppa Pig for chibi bean or Neo Mag for myself but today I saw a offer on 3 magazines and bought them and found that one of them had a feature on Top Shop's new designer range .. my mouth fell open when I saw this stuff. I had to do a double take!
So I thought I would show you some of the stuff I found!
Some of the Range by Meadham Kirchhoff is uhum...bright and not really my style but what sprung to mind was Pastels and Kawaii with the other pieces.
Am sure you Fairy kei and pastel /White Goths, Decora , Magical girls are going to love some of this stuff!

Okay, Okay. This one I fell in love with it but am a complete sucker for pink animal print ..huhu so cute!
But here is the other stuff below that I want to show you!

As you can see its a mix of pastels and very flowing items. I really love those shoes those are just crazy! I would not wear them myself but I bet they would look adorable on a sweet lolita! There is a Baby doll style dress and even cute Skirts to be found.

There is a ton of cute pastel shade tights and very cute cherry themed socks that are utterly adorable!
The blouse is also so Kawaii and I would love to see some of the j-fashion enthusiast's online collaborating it in with their own styles! Maybe some on could send me a photo - I so would show it on the Facebook Page. I bet it would look so Kawaii.

Check out these cute hold ups! nyaa so sweet. hehe.

I have to admit the price tag is rather high for myself but then I would want to spend my money on other things hehe! (or maybe save up for that lush top...*plots*)
Since this was on the higher gloss fashion magazines I wonder how long till the others take on pastel shades and cute looks.Am rather shocked its in a ''High Street'' Shop but its rather nice to see the High street explore new trends (okay, not new to us J-Fashion lovers.) But yea..you get my drift.
I wonder if the public are ready to take on Kawaii Fashions now that it is slowly being seen more and more with J-Fashion lover's and stylish idol's daring to be different.

Do you want to see more Kawaii in ''normal/casual'' high street fashion?
Would you like to see more people dress more Kawaii? Or do you think that the style here in the UK is to mature for dressing in Kawaii styles?
I'd love to hear your views on this so comment below...
