How to make a a Kawaii Princess bedroom.

Every one loves having a room, personal space and place to retreat to. Most the time that is your bed room. I myself have wanted a shabby chic with a kawaii princess touch to it. Its a working progress. However I thought why not post up my findings form what I have found here with you all.
I found lots of inspiration online and of course added my own touch. I guess when it comes down to it your personal taste will favour shades and colours so just pick what you like. Myself I took to softer shades as its a bedroom after all and its for sleeping. I know some of you will still be in the frame of mind that your bed room is your whole life. I was like that when I was renting. So feel free to pick the shades and things that you like -its your room . This is simply my guide and ideas.

Lets go!
First off colours are important I picked the shades already on my walls. which is a muted cream shade and a wall of crazy purples ( a feature wall I think it is to be?) - I want to change it but not till time and money ect. So am working with the shades I have in mind and the shades I have. Of course I would love to rip it all off and have it all my way but - not yet. So I picked similar shades to what I want to what I have. Soft colours, cream , soft grey, a hint of pink and lavender .  So am working with those shades in mind. ( you can pink the kinds you want but think princess like.) When it comes to Princess shades, think ( and not limited too.) Pastels. White, Baby Pink / Blue , Egg Duck Blue, Lavander, Dusty Gray ect.

I picked a shabby chic theme with a touch of royalty and cuteness. Cause I wanted to feel like a princess when I step into the room. However keeping in mind Mr also shares the room - I had to hold back on the crazy princess ideas I had! Am sure he will feel like a princess too when its all finally done haha! So I guess I went for a more mature princess theme.  I picked out things like hearts, butterflies, unicorns , flowers, soft images and gentle things . You can also pick if you wish to have a modern princess room , over the top style. If that is not your thing maybe you will pick a more simple clean style instead.

Hints and tips
Things that make a room belong to a princess.
The Bed, if you have the funds go crazy on a Princess style bed or why not up cycle the bed you already have by picking some cute bedding.
The Mirror, Every princess need a magic mirror, mine is a old 80's cream free standing mirror that I have on my dresser but you can find any size, style and colour to match your room. I just can not part with my one cause it belonged to my mum.
The Units/ Dresser , As much as I would love to repaint or replace the pine ones I have . You can dress them up with table runners or pick new ones with white shades and cream or paint your own. Look for anything that is vintage/ Shabby chic.
The Chandler, nothing says princess or queen like a pretty chandler of course its up to you but you can find some really nice ones or just change your light shade to something cute and airy.
The Bed Canopy, totally need something like this. A little fabric draped over the bed or pinned to the walls will add a touch of elegance!
The Extras, This is where you can go crazy and have lots of fun adding your personal touch! Think pretty twinkle lights, cute photo frames, wall art, cushions ect ect.. Myself I have a huge blossom tree with lights on it!

Where to get the stuff?!
Getting stuff can be the fun but and a little stressful. I took to google image searches for ideas at the start and then took to places like ebay, amazon and etsy . Other places such as not on the high street too. Of course you will be surprised at what the street shops have! I found lots of cute things fit for a kawaii princess in Primark, New Look and even B&M even checking out places such as Paperchase, Tiger and Charity shops ! It is also fun looking at places likes of pound shops, Home bargins, Dunelm and Matalan or TKMaxx It is completely worth it!

Now you have some insight and ideas I hope you will all share your own kawaii rooms!
Once my own room is done up and sorted I will do a bed room tour on my youtube or instagram for you all! Have fun doing up your princess kawaii rooms all!

Tartan's- Summer Kawaii Ideas

I love wish list's, they are so much fun. I love shopping too. Are you one of those folk who just add everything to the basket you like online , like - I want this, that , oh that too! To then get to the basket that is in the cyber world over spilling of stuff that your bank account would never handle. Yeah..sounds just like me!
Well this year I have taken a few steps to my many wish lists, some are more to do with my self than products and items lol. But one thing for me is being more colourful every day.
I have been looking at cute skirts to take on a more feminine side to myself- am so bad for wearing Tee's and jeans . So I got myself some skirts like the ones form Cutesy Kink!

Am loving these pastel cute shades in these cute skirts with braces, they are light weight and trendy. These will be great pieces to add to your kawaii clothing. I think they come in pink, blue and lavender. They are just so cute and floaty ! I think the best thing with these also is when it comes to summer layering these would look really cute with tights or socks and pretty shoes in the same shades.

Talking about summer , makes me think of flowers and I adore wearing flowers with my fashions and Wigs. They were in fashion last year but this year they have come back bigger and bolder. With so many shades and flowers to pick form it is some thing you can use with ease to make a kawaii outfit super summery and adorable. They remind me of festival boho looks and summer days at the beach with your sweetheart.

Kawaii sunnies! I love shades- My fave kind are the cat eye shape sunglasses and both of mine are pink but they are not as kawaii crazy as these ones! It would be super fun to make your own DIY Kawaii sunglasses like these. There is lots of cute sunglasses on places like Esty and Ebay. It is a matter of hunting and looking for that Kawaii statement piece!
Summer make-up is my other suggested idea, in summer it is far from a good look to have caked up make up and having the heat melt it all off so why not swap your make up to light formulas such as BB creams that often have a sun factor in them to help protect your skin in the sun. I used one from etube house and its so light to wear. As well you might still use more shimmery shades or natural shades but don't forget that bright lippy that you can't forget or leave it in the house! I like to use my bright matte shades to last longer on warmer days with a gloss on top for that summery look!

What would you say are your Kawaii Summer ideas and hints/ tips that you would share? What thing would you like to add to your summer outfits?

How to be Kawaii- with a budget!

Hey every cutie!
Today am going to talk about .How to be Kawaii- on a budget! Some times buying Kawaii items ends up totalling up and becomes expensive, really quickly.  And not all the time we find our saved up money can buy all our Kawaii goodies we would like. I have a bit of a large collection of kawaii items, goods and such but it do take time to build on making a collection .The Kawaii life is a hard one . heh.  So I put together some hints and tips together for you .

Budget-
Budget your spending and put money aside every month for buying Kawaii things and while you are at it save a little up every month too. Pop it all in a cute Kawaii piggy bank to keep you motivated to save up for some thing really special and Kawaii.

Time-
It takes time to build up on getting Kawaii things, don't blow all your money at once! Take your time. Talking of time, shopping at the right time can be a benefit as well.
Yus! Am talking about sales and holiday seasonal items sales too. Some of my own Kawaii things are really old so it can take a while to build up a kawaii collection. It takes time so its worth spending money wisely and watch out for fake brand products too! Remember also sometimes its better to pick quality over quantity.

Shopping-
When you are out shopping and you need something new or replacements think about it? Can I buy this in a Kawaii version?
Like a new cute tooth brush or cute storage boxes. What about home goods like pillows, duvet covers or even cute make up accessories, eye masks and lip balms in cute shades and sweet kawaii flavours?!

Just think before you buy .
1. Can I get it cheaper ? (so you can save more in your kawaii savings)
2. Can I get it in a Kawaii version?( some times the Kawaii version is cheaper!?)
3. Think Kawaii , Kawaii, Kawaii for everything!

Kawaii tip~ Check out 2nd hand shops and charity shops for cheep kawaii treasures!

Kawaii tip~ Don't forget about telling your family and friends you like Kawaii stuff and show them what you like it will help give them ideas for special occasions when they are stuck for ideas!

Online shopping-
You can buy so much online and looking for cute items and kawaii ones is not hard.Watch out for hidden shipping fees and custom charges when shopping, or try looking on sales groups online for cute things or even online trades. You might even be lucky and have a friend over seas that might be able to pick up Kawaii items to do a box swap with every so often!( Please be careful when giving out any personal information.) I will check out Asian web sites first and then hunt them down on a UK or world wide shipping website for the same item and compare prices and shipping when I shop kawaii !! - anther top kawaii tip!

Kawaii tip ~Sign up for a monthly Kawaii Club box from Keep it Secret and get a box of Kawaii goodies sent to your door every month!

Make your self-
If its to much to buy then why not have a go at making it your self? You can find lots of Kawaii DIY online tutorials to get you started and might even become a new hobby in sewing and crafts or be able to make up your own new ideas of cute things.

Kawaii tip- Why not re vamp dull looking things with Kawaii deco-den and accessories!

As I have said it takes time and money to get into kawaii stuff, from collection cute items to wearing cute fashions, its all about shopping about, thinking about what works best and budgets! Also keep in mind that even having a room full of cute things will not automatically transform you into a magical kawaii person! Sometimes the one thing that makes us super kawaii is a very simple but priceless smile! So don't forget to smile too!

Hope you like the post every one! Stay Cute.

Kawaii Crafts -Washi Blossom Garland

It is time to get crafty every Cutie, here is a Do it your self - How to make your own Washi Blossom Garland. To hang up and enjoy in your home, room or kawaii space!
Its a simple thing to make  that recycles old plastic bags and looks so cute hanging up. So lets go and get to the how to ...

What you will need it the following~
A bunch of Plastic bags
Some Washi Decorative tape
Thread
Scissors

Start with gathering all the things you need and set up some space.Take next your plastic bag and flatten it out. You want to cut it up into strips but discard the handle and the very end piece of the bag. You can play about with the widths of the ''Blossoms'' you wish to make. You might want to collect a few plastic bags for this!

Once you have done this you want to take you Washi tape or decorative tape and place it along the sides of the strips of plastic bags. You can pick any cute tapes to make your 'Blossoms' look really cute. This can be a tricky bit taping up the plastic bags strips so do take your time! Make sure you do both sides.

Once all the sides have their washi tape on them, you want to fold them up. so if you pinch the ends they will fan out. This is where you are going to need your thread to tie them up and keep it them from spring flat again. Make sure you try and tie the knots nice and tight in the middle of the plastic strips.

The next step is to take the folded strip and then cut around the ends in a rounded trim on the edge, This will give a bit of shape of a semi circle on the ends to make your ' blossoms'.
Once you have done this very gently  pull the sides to puff them out and then separated them even more to give some volume and shape to the 'blossom.' You should have something a bit like these..

Taa Daa!!
Then simply either string them along a thread like a garland or even bunch them up together. Hang them verticality across or even let them dangle like floating blossoms from above by attaching them high up. You can really put them any where you want and they are just so cute and a great little project to do with friends and family.

Kawaii Rainbow times.

Hey every Cutie!
Cute pillows!
How are you all doing!?

I wanted to share with you some new Kawaii items I have bought of late, Once again I caved in and bought some cute jewellery items form Enji! *waves*

I love her jewellery so much, its so original and Kawaii! So I was playing about with new things I have learnt with my camera and got some super Kawaii shots with the jewellery nyaa! I hope you like them.

So I also got myself some cute pillows to use in my room they are rainbow themed. They are very lovely and soft.  One is a Rainbow shape and the other 2 are heart shape with Rainbow colour's on them. Very cute hehe I also added my san-x bear pillows in the photo for added cute-ness.  They look very cute in my spare room which I have been working on .
Now I have made the choice that it will be my 'Kawaii room'' A place I can escape too. But will be doubled up as my *Drum roll* Photography studio room!!! It was meant to be the Guest/ Rilakkuma room but things change haha, It will still be a Guest room too though.
With re painting items white and putting up white shelves to keep the room light and airy for shooting with the (pop up) Back sheet frame with drop, lights, kit ect. I will be needing this, for the next coming months for my photography projects.

Kawaii Ham - Ham loves Enji!

So  I have been setting up my Kawaii and cute items up on the shelves in the room and because I repainted the book shelf there is some kawaii on that too! Yay.
I have my cute anime and vocailoid figures up on the shelf easy for me to get hold of them as I like doing toy photography, I also have a few smaller plush dolls on this shelf   I have a few Hello Kitty's and Mimmy's here too. As well as a couple of Cat themed things. I do like my Cats. Oh and of course dont go forgetting about my Lucky Cat and Domo too! Am also a Momiji Fan, I have been for ages and I felt like my dolls were not getting much love in the Kitchen so I moved them into the spare room to be admired instead.

Also this month I caved in - 3 months into this year and I failed. I bought something Hello Kitty
Yep, I was trying to get at least half way through the year and not buy anything Kitty..whoops!
How ever I really happy with the new bag I got. Its bright and a great size - Ah  I just love it! So I have been using it a bit more than my other bags and every time I have used it, I have had a great response and comment on my bag. From '' OH MY LOVE THAT BAG'' to''Wow that is a cute bag'' from other Mummy's at playgroup. Who also admire my other ''funky'' as they say bags and even the staff and customers at the local shop comment on my bags. Which then they were left drooling over my purse too. I some times wonder if these folks have never seen cute before and maybe like to see more of it appearing. hehe its nice to get positive reactions- regardless.
As I  said in the past month or so am going to many events, in April so I should be able to blog lots more. If there is any thing you want me to cover or take photo's of ( keep it clean.) I would like to hear your suggestions!
I hope to put up a post soon of my Toy Photography yay! so watch this space.
Till later <3 Tartan.

Kawaii Valentines chocolate Ideas

Hello Cuties, Here is a second post for you all (this give us a small brake from doing interviews all the time!) I just wanted to say that I am working on a tiny laptop so my post will be a bit short and to the point.I do hope you enjoy this kawaii idea and give this a try (^_^)
This Kawaii DIY Idea is super cute and its also super yummy, you dont even need to wait till valentines day to makes these and you can make them as gifts for others too!
They are also super easy to make and super cute.

You will need, Some Chocolate for melting.I used both white and milk chocolate
2 bowls for each Chocolate and spoons.
Mould shapes eg, hearts.
Candy foils for wrapping and a cute food bag to gift them in.

Melt your Chocolate in the Mirco-wave (its easy this way to check every 10 sec while it melts to stop it from burning!) >w< huhuh I found out the hard way, burnt chocolate is not nice nyaa!
^_^;
Stir the chocolate well, and put the melted chocolate into its moulds, Why not add some Silver candy balls or sprinkles for extra kawaii-ness before you add the chocolate to the moulds. (these will in effect appear on the top of your mould shapes when ready.) Once all the chocolate is in all the moulds pop it in the fridge! Check them after a while and once they are solid again its time to pop them out the moulds and get ready to add any extra decorations and wrap them.

And once they are all wrapped up put them in their cute food or gift bag, Or even make a cute box to give them to your Valentines <3 As you can see I added lots of Red to wrap and gift mine up. As well as super cute food bags. These will look so cute with your Valentines Hearts with messages inside too!
One more post coming up!
Stay Kawaii!!

Showing off some art.

Hey cuties,
So this is more of a mummy post but I guess it could come in handy for some of you. As a mummy I like to let chibi bean express her creative side, I think its cute.
We do pens, paint, make and crafting, but it was getting to the point where I could no longer display her pieces of art on the fridge. Not only that my magnets were starting to give up as chibi bean was putting piece after piece of art up on top of each other. I found while making a cup of tea I could no longer find a way into the fridge. I started to look for some ideas on the internet a way to display her cute art with out pinning it on the walls or the fridge. There was a lot of ideas but I found one which was like a huge sheet of plastic that had been set up into pockets to put drawing and even photos into it. For displaying and you hung it over a door or on the wall. But it cost quite a bit!

But I looked at it again and was like ...wait are those just not like multi polly pockets you would have in a folder! (light turns on above my head.)
So I grabbed a few of my old file pockets and stuck them together..haha that simple!

So you get the idea here are a few photos of our Kawaii Art displaying ideas.

I made 2 sets with 4 pockets each and tied on some string to hang them.
There is also a string with baby pegs with some of our photo's of family in the middle. Also a idea that can display photos or pictures. You can find cute pegs from Hobby craft .

It was really easy to do , Just some sticky tape and stick them together. You can hang these up anywhere.
We spend a lot of time up at the table so that's why we put it here.
Also I got a Cake stand for Christmas and I felt it was a bit to pretty to only bring out to use for just cakes soo..

As you can see it had become a bit of a display for all the pens in the pot , a home for Kitty and Mimmy and a place to keep the buttons. Yes our buttons go missing a lot so this is home for them...but they only stay there if I place them there. If some one else has...it can become a interesting game of find the buttons.
So I guess you could apply the idea to Posters or other pictures, maybe even penpal letters or something.
Maybe you might want to make different sized pocket holders and tape them in different shapes.

Hope you like the post!

Kawaii DIY ideas

Hey Kawaii lovers here is a small but cute idea for you all!
Its a bit of a Do it yourself Kawaii make-over post.
I wanted so show you you can turn anything into something cute.
So I have a lot of kawaii bits and bobs and like to store everything and keep it neat and tidy so am going to show you 2 Kawaii ideas!
One being a cute pot to store some things away and the other a box! So you will need..

A clean empty pot like a yogurt pot of some sort, I had a porridge pot yea its got peppa pig on it hehe!
And a new blank CD storage box, You can pick and choose what sort of item you wish to decoden and make kawaii.

You will also need the following, Stickers, pens and pretty cute tape to use for decorating. You can add other things if you want to, likes of ribbon Glitter and such.
For the pot I used the Deco-tape and simply wrapped the tape around the pot .

I rushed this a bit to much but it still looks really cute and cheerful, in such little time you have a Kawaii pot to fill it with your stuff.

I put the pens in the pot for Chibi bean as she likes to colour in and she was very happy with her new pen pot!

Using the CD storage box and a black file box, I also gave them a make over!
I used a lot of stickers or used the deco tape to place cute post it notes on them. I also used the pens to doodle on small pictures and words. I also added some of those temporary tattoos on them , you just apply them the same way as you would on your skin. ( I can't use them on my skin ) Just be careful you do not want to  wet the stuff you are giving a Kawaii make over.
You can really add and even paint them in any way you want to give them a make over, this is just one way to make them Kawaii!

I hope you all have a go of this idea too!
