Relax with Pure Thoughts

I have been meaning to share this post with you all but of late I have had no interest in doing my blog, youtube or anything much of late. However with all the mopping about and feeling sorry for myself I found some time to type this up. I guess we all go through those phases time to time where we feel like this. Any way enough of such talk!  A few weeks back I got a pampering parcel in the post a gift for me , from me! Those are the best gifts when you need a pick me up.

Thoughts on Venus - Kawaii make up

Hey every one- Happy new year!
Its 2015 and am starting it with a bang, I will be away on holiday . But I will tell you all-l about it when am back.
I wanted to do a post on Lime crime's new ( well newish) Pallet of eye shadow Venus. I been following lime crime for a bitty now and really liked using the lippys and the other ones the velvetines.
(see my past post here!)
So after seeing the newest pallet be announced and then see the colours I was rather excited, I awaited the date and time like a hawk for its release. I got mine in the basket right away online as quickly it went up it was out of stock.  I felt very lucky to now mine was shipped and on its way.

So what attracted me to this. well in a word ,shade-  the colours they look like natural shades but with a twist. They look rusty and warm and so pretty. I never used any colours like this before nor do I now how to use them so I was pretty worried looking like some 5 year old kid let loose in a make up department.
As well these were not the sorta shades for my own style - being Kawaii and all these were more for Grunge 90's looks but I liked them so much. I figured who cares!?

So once my order came, it cost me $42 by the way, yup I took a splurge here and it was about $10 for shipping too. I was pretty happy it came in a white box and inside it was all decorative with logos and flowers and my order was neatly wrapped. I have had no issues with shipping or ordering from Limecrime direct. Shipping took a while but it was coming form the USA - am being honest here.

Personally I really do not like the box, Venus on it bugs me-its not my taste and its not very Kawaii but hey we can not win it all now can we?
So with the box design art not winning any points from me you do get a mirror inside which is handy and its is a nice size not to bulky either. Moving on the colours , I LOVE EM, they are so modern and pretty I love them all apart from Muse, Muse and I don't get along to well. Maybe am using it wrong but its rather harsh looking. Every other shade is great and the Venus, Rebirth and Aura are my personal fave's.
Easy to apply and blend to create the styles and looks you want, you can use em together to made other shades too. I use Icon a lot for my brows too.  They are long lasting and more so with the help of the use of primer any brand I use both Limecrime and urban decay.  Lots of pigment and rather eye catching- I got a lot of comments when wearing these. Don't worry nice ones lol.
I did have a hunt for a dupe pallet for these but nothing turned up but I did find Sauce Box- forbidden fruits is a great pallet to complement Venus in your collection of eye shadows. I found that more and most Pallets of natural shades look very cool and tones are cold which do not go well with my slightly olive complexion. (imo- as i am no make up expert here lol!) Outta ten am giving this a big nine! It looses a point for that art deco thing going on the front of the box but I guess it makes it easy to find in the make up drawer!

Have you used Limecrime Venus yet or is it on your wish list?
Keep it Kawaii!!

Make- up review~ Japanese or UK make- up?!

Hello there Cuties! Hope you are all well and ready for this review.
I for some time been wanting to but some Japanese make up as well as some Korean make up too,
Maybe its all in my head but I wanted to compare the brands with each other and see if it is worth it to buy the other brands from over sea or not.

So far I have only 2 lip tints form a Korean shop which I use  more a less every second day. Am a huge make-up junkie anyway and want to try over-sea make up.
I also wondered if by using over seas make up if it would improve my skills and create more Japanese styles in make up or look more doll like.

So I bought 2 eye palette's one new form Barry M ( Natural Glow.)as you all know I adore Barry M make-up and a Japanese make up palette called Kanebo Lavshuca melty hearts. This is my 1st comparision review so please be gentle on me, nya!

As you can see the item is well  displayed. It has a nice selection of colours to pick from to create a natural  glow in eye make up with a Blusher too . The pressed eye shadow takes a wee bit of rubbing to get a good amount on the applicator but the blusher was easy to use, I think its cause the shadows are in small spaces.
Here is a photo of the eye make up with my own eye-liner and mascara which I have kept the same when I used the other make up too.

I have to say I am slightly disappointed on the colours from BarryM this time as normally the colour's are great, this palette colours where far to light for my personal liking even the darker shades.
I think using a wet brush might help with these colours but I was planning to use these more for my casual days and everyday but I think I will not use it as much as I was hopping.
However!
The lightness of the colours is still very good for beginners and for making your eyes look larger but the dark colours will not be the best for making shadows.
I shall be sticking to the Trio colour pallet from now on!!

Moving on the Japanese Palette Lavshauca.
Here are some Photos of the Packaging of the product.

The Palette is cute, but its tiny! Which put me off the applicator also was a bit fiddly I picked some natural shades, this one has some lights and darks in more browns it was had to find something to match BarryM  completely. As you can see you don't get a Blusher or as many colours but you got this stunning red.

Again the Colours were very light but they seemed to have a better pigment which was good for both highlighting and shadows. The Red was a nice touch but you could easily by a red eye shadow to use.
The colours were hard to use with the given applicator - so I used my own brush for the red to line it more than blend. Maybe I was being a bit light handed with the shades.

Overall thoughts...
I do love BarryM , I really do but this product, is not for me personally,I do like the overall look and display of the item. The Japanese one was really small which was a bit annoying.
However I would say that I much prefer the Melty Hearts out of the two products for the colours pigments.
Even the price can't sway me even though Barry M was Cheaper I still am picking Mety hearts over it , the price was more thanks to shipping.
My thinking is for doing Japanese make up find a brand you like and find the basics of doing Japanese styles, like creating bigger eyes I think that the Japanese brands might be slightly  better for these sort of styles as they are trendy over there and wanted.Where over here we are not after that sort of look ( Just yet.) I think if you can master the basics of make-up and styles then any good make up will work on your benefit. This would not stop me form trying more Japanese brands and make up even Korean makes though!
(Teehee!)
