Be yourself with N$VNE- Review

Hey every cutie, How are you all doing . I have been working on a few projects over the past few months and the good thing is the projects are starting to come to light which is rather exciting.Just a small warning post has some bad words in the post.Normally I avoid sweary words but these are not spelt as sweary words but that aside I apologise to my youngest readers! But they are censored..kinda. Fun Fact- am actully a very bad role model cause I have a potty mouth! So sorry about that haha!
That aside I have a post that has some strong meaning, so please read on...

Last month I was contacted by a company N$VNE which is pronounced insane by the way , Got in touch with me last month asking if I would be interested in their #beyourfvckingself project.

After a while of emails going back and forth ,being in touch I agreed to work together with N$VNE. What I liked about the project is that is all about well, being yourself and doing what you love to do.

As well as the project sell affordable apparel with a range for both us gurls and for the guys. The style is simple , with meanings behind both  the designs and slogans which are pretty strong and powerful. They even made me stop and think!
''  The focus of our brand and this project is to get people back comfortable with being themselves and their own style. Not so much being caught up on the luxuries that celebrities and artist portray but the average person can not afford. Style isn't for a certain price range, it's an attitude.''

Outfit run down
Hair- CutesyKink
Top- N$VNE
Leggings - Esty
Beanie- Vixxsin

N$VNE, were kind enough to send me a #beyourfvckingself tee and a item as a gift to wear in my own style and fashion. With being introduced to the project it really made me think about style and fashion again. I started changing my own way of thinking.

Why should I dress down if its only the shop am going too?
Why should I compare myself to other social media famous folks?
I should be my self in the styles, I like. I reminded myself - why care what others think?
Should we hide away in our styles and follow the rest of the crowd?

It really did put my mind into over drive so I started being more myself.
Like, the other day I just threw on eye liner and red lips and no other make up, and I just didn't care what the passers by would think. (my skin has been pretty bad since vacation so I wanted it to breathe but still wear my bright lippy's.)

I stopped and looked at the other styles and fashions I adore and thought, just cause am Kawaii, it do not mean I have to just be Kawaii . So I pulled out some old fashions and wore them . Even the other today I took a vintage style and rocked with with no care in the world. These other styles are part of me as well but don't Panic Kawaii is my signature look for life.

N$VNE also have a contest with you uploading your style with their apparel and showing it off.
I will be checking this out and seeing what other styles have been done and may even feel inspired by others who have entered!

'Be Yourself. That's the basis of N$VNE Apparel. That's our purpose and that's what we hope for your to do. With the #BeYourFvckingSelf Contest, we want you to take pictures doing what it is that you do the most. Our customers and fans are from all over the world and range from Artist to Athletes to Models to Students to Skaters and everything in between. What we would like for you to do is take a picture doing whatever it is that you love to do with a picture saying "#BeYourFvckingSelf".

I love this idea, and I also really dig the whole Be your Self , I think its worth us all taking the time to stop and think, Am doing this for me ? Am I being me? Am I doing this to please myself. Sometimes we need to reflect .

Turning our eyes back to N$VNE .The items they have are really good and well made items. I wanted a oversize of my Tee of #beYourFvckingself and when for a M in size in the end. I could of worn a Small but I love oversize Tee's so much for style and comfort. I am a creature of comfort ! Taking of comfort the tee is easy to wear and so comfortable. The other item was some thing a bit brave on my part. A crop top . Now most of you all are aware am a mommy. And when you have gone through pregnancy it leaves you with a lot of body change's that can really effect you on different levels. With this project I realised . Those stretch marks or changes are a reminder of how amazing us humans are, to make a life. I should be proud of them and not hide them away. Hence why I was being brave.  I got my crop top in the size S . Again the top is well made, and made of soft material. Not only do I love the Project and the products from N$VNE, I found that those who run the company are really nice, enthastic and passionate about what they are doing.

So what are you waiting for my Kawaii Kittens! Its time to #BeYourFvckingself with N$VNE sign up with the news letter and get 10% off too!

What is your Kawaii fashion identity .

Fashion. Its a vast world out there full of fashion, main stream to sub fashion. To High street trends to the trends in High-school and Collage. Finding your own fashion and style is very interesting path. Over the years I have tried many styles , some suited me and many didn't. Eventually we find our place in fashion and learn what we like and dislike. I have not done a personal post in ages so I finally got round to my thoughts on my fashion Identity and how is changed over the past 4 years.

A few years back I ventured into Lolita it didn't last very long for me, I understood the guidelines and the rules of dressing in such a fashion but I found it didn't fit my personality or my lifestyle. To this day I still love it ,I admire it on others and adore it, But not on me. I love those who wear it and when I see groups of those pretty frilly enchanting creatures, when they are on a meet up. My heart fills up just admiring them all.

However when I looked to other fashions. I found them not quite to fit me being  a bit dull and not so kawaii from the UK high street trends. I turned to J-Fashion and the sub styles even then, I knew what I liked but never quite found what style I fitted into so I guess I just call it Harajuku inspired and Kawaii fashion.  I found Decora and fairy kei to young for me , I found Gal styles a bit over the top - I really could not place the name for the style, I wanted to embrace with myself with .

It was about 3-4  years ago I started to find more quirky looking clothing online and mixed it with my own tastes to slowly build up a collection of my style, it is still being worked on as I write this, as am far from finished.  I call it Kawaii Fashion ...well its under that umbrella.
What I can say is I have really moved away from wearing greys and blacks , now am 90% colour- yay! I used to be into Scene and Goth in the past - I do also like those styles but favour more Japanese street style to those, mind you I think every one dips a toe in those styles down the fashion discovery path. However the inner rock chic in me sometimes surfaces every now and again with a hint of gothic.Old habits I guess.

I am on the forever hunt for a style that screams Kawaii that can be both toned down and up! I look for happy colours and lots of pink. I am in love with pastels ,something I would never wear in the past. I also have learnt to tone down my looks and outfits when I need to and when I need to let a kawaii explosion happen on a simple outfit. I much favour comfort and causal when it comes to items I pick and choose from. I even love to play about with makeup and go a bit crazy with it.
Sometimes and lets be real about this , here in the UK you don't always get to wear what you want ,all the time. So many pass judgement or it just not seen as appropriate.  I tone down to fit in with situation and tone up when it comes to meet ups, seeing friends and events or if its on Tartan Kawaii business. Its a useful skill to have.
I count myself lucky cause,I am comfortable in whatever I wear and if I get looks form others - well, I get looks am happy being in the styles I like toned up or down. So I do not worry about what others think. Yup I will find a way to sneak in some Kawaii or style if needed I will bend rules if the situation comes about mind you I do have become known now , at the school run for bright high top trainers to  those rock chic leather jackets.

Accessories ,I love the use of accessories and think those can be your best friend if you are wearing something simple . I firmly believe they have the power to complement and bring Kawaii to an outfit. Mind you I do struggle to find more mature looking Kawaii items and ranges. This goes to outfits and fashions as well. It's like once you hit your early 20's to mid 20's your not seen as Kawaii anymore or its not a market for companies to take an interest in. Just a head up- we all get old! And I, for one am staying Kawaii even when am a old wife, btw with my leathers and blue rise hair its a style I will rock well! So even though I have had to hunt high and low to find the right sorta style and accessories its not stopped me being Kawaii no matter what my age. I also stopped trying to look baby looking or aiming to look younger than what I really am. Hey, I thought at the time it was a good idea of eternal youth but since then I got back on my own game and stopped looking as young as possible and embraced my new mature Kawaii self. The answers to the game guess Tartan's age are all off and no one can guess my real age , such a mystery lol! I have fallen in love with some cool kawaii accessories over the years and like your indie style brands I have a big love for Tarina Tarantino, Loungefly x Hello Kitty, Japan. L.A and  The Rougue+The Wolf.

It is funny with all this hunting you come across many companies and retailers on those paths and then with outfits . You find out how to change your style of make up to match in with it. For a long time I was natural shades and a ton of eye liner and a full face of make up every day. Now every day its a BB cream, brows done and blusher and my fave lippy in a shade of pink. ( I am loving JSC and Splash LA pinks.) This is for the every day casual look I aim for when am in the Kawaii Mumma mode. But I will put on a full face when it comes to events, and such. I want it to last all day, yuno.
I am enjoying so many make up brands just know, such as Lunastick Comestics Labs, Jeffree Star Cosmetics. Make up Monsters , Sugar pill and Concrete Minerals. Mainly animal testing free products and some are vegan too. I also adore my Korean and Japanese Products too but then I maybe a bit of a sucker for Kawaii packaging - lol.

So this is my Kawaii Fashion Identity. I like to dress up Kawaii and am happy. And to me that is all that matters. If you like to dress up in a style and fashion and it makes you happy. Then be yourself and do it. I see my kawaii fashion like my armour. It helps me take on the day. Even if its a lazy day with bed head hair and I throw on my Hello Kitty oneise and a full face of make up answering the door to the postman who has brought me something new and cute in the post. No cares there lol.

A Cotton Jelly Clothing Review

Hey cute things!

Do I have a treat of a review for you all today!
I have got some goodies that have come in the post the other day and I could not wait to share them with you. This is a sponsored review from Cotton Jelly an online streetwear fashion label based in Leicester, UK. I have heard of these guys before through a facebook page that I followed and what sparked my interest was the fact they are based in the UK, they had a great sense of fashion when it comes to new idea's trends and style oh and 2 words... HELLO KITTY!

When I spied not only do they do women wear of Hello Kitty they do men wear too.  So I have ordered from Cotton Jelly as a customer as well as being sponsored for this review. Going back to the men wear, I was delighted my dreams came true! I could finally let him share the love for hello kitty too by me getting  a loving and charming gift for my hubby ( last Christmas there.) to wear at his free will  by force and then put on the puppy eyes to make him feel bad if he did not put it on,cause am sure he really do love Hello Kitty as much as I do and he would  ,will wear it to work.
In my defence the top is pretty tasteful and yes he wore it to work- am sure his team  at work thought it was super kawaii (staff were laughing on the floor of his work.) So I have been a past customer with Cotton Jelly so I can give you a insight to the website and how it works too!

So with that fun story out the way lets get on with the review!
I was invited to pick some items so clearly I picked the Hello Kitty items which you can find on the website.. here at cottonjelly.com, You go to the 'Brands' Section. The website is really easy to use and navigate. If you sign up with them you will get a small discount too!

Most of the items are tops for both men and women and I think there is a childrens range coming out soon! (Yay the whole Kawaii family ~we could all match!!)
So what did I get , well this is what came by delivery man, A black bubble wrap jiffy bag, with a positive inspired quote on the back of it too.

Inside was a letter from the team who seem like a pretty awesome bunch and stickers for the company links and logo . And my items of course. Now I went for a M size cause they look rather tight but they are soft and stretchy, so I could of worn a small but am not a fan of things clinging to my body also I like my stuff a little baggy , all the sizing is on the website and easy to find but a M is a UK 12 and a S is a UK 10 for us Ladies! I would say these are good sized products .

Each top has a cute Hello Kitty design's for both men and women by Cotton Jelly ,which are approved and licensed with Sanrio. The other little beauty about these tops is the can be personalised! So OF course I had to get some done! And what better way that using the word Kawaii on the areas to be personalised. ( Yes - I also got hubby's name on his , that way he will never lose it or be able to disown the fact he has a hello kitty top. haha....)
Mainly the personalised bit is either on the front or the back of the top and in the inner neck but my items had a '' THANK YOU from CJ (cottonjelly.)'' Which I thought was pretty smart and cute!

This is the top with KITTY all over it in black white and red.
Its super soft to the touch and very sporty looking but of course can be used for every day wear , its not super kawaii in your face , so you can use this a lot with that hint of Kawaii to your outfit!
this is what I really like about this top. Being a mature  Kawaii Mommy is hard to keep on a low profile! But I love the fact its got my personalised Kawaii on it too hehe! OH and and and!!!
The back of the top! Check it out! everything on the back has its well back 'side' to it too!
I love this attention to detail!

The other top is a simple top with Hello Kitty's face with a moustache in a simple design. This top puts a smile on my face the whole moustache thing makes me laugh, again this is a simple white top with kitty her bow and her tash on the top , On the back it has small design to the back of the neck and a slogan saying '' Real men wear hello kitty !! Just like my hubby's one on the back! Its soft to touch and its a great top for being a little more cute or edgy in style but more of a causal cute which is perfect again for those days when you are not full on super Kawaii , or those dress down cool days with a fave top paired with skinny jeans and hello kitty vans of course!

The other top is a other Hello Kitty one ( of course!) This one is a bit more cuter! Its crammed packed with the Kitty Crew! You have all her family and friends on the front around the neck shoulders and chest and on the back too. It has a minty blue polka dot design on the top as well adding more cuteness to the top ,It is more colourful compared to the others and again its got my personalised bit on the back of Kawaii!

I thought since I show you the mens top as well , I really like the design on the mens top for the ' Real men wear Hello Kitty '' Range its pretty cool.  Hello Kitty it is actually supporting a full beard of Kitty's bows!
And when I did order his top of course I went ahead and treated myself to the crop top in pink of Hello Kitty which I fell in love with the sizing is a little different for the crop tops but this is a M size too and fits well. So it has my fave things on one top, Pink, animal print and Hello Kitty and on the back it has a 14 with you guessed it Kawaii on it.

Over all, I love Cotton Jelly products and its not limited to Hello Kitty so there is something for every one and every style. I found that they are durable products, wash well  and keep shape. They are unique and stylish . The price reflects the product quality. The whole process to order and such was all top scores everything came on time for ordering back there at Christmas and everything was well packed and presented. I am giving them a 10 Outta 10 for everything! What a Glowing report!

So if you have not checked them out already, then you are going to need all the links!

Kawaii Pastels fashion on the highstreet

Hello every cutie.
How are you all doing. I thought I would share some Kawaii fashion finds that you can get on the local high street brands and some online retailers too. There is still a lot of Pastel shades in the shops. I guess with it bring spring every one likes to wear pastel shades.
And then there is me shying away from them and picking more bolder shades to wear, personally I do not think I suit pastel colours. But I do like looking at them and think they look super cute too.

I spotted this cute powder pink cross over bag from Boohoo.com. And I love the shade and style of this bag and its a steal at a mere £15!

The other thing that has surfaced to the fashion world is the Wrapped skorts and skorts.
Looks like a wrapped/skirt but worn like shorts. These are not new, I used to own a pair once upon a time but what I love about them is the fact when there was no worry of the wind to catch your skirt . They are so Kawaii!  Yay! I hope they catch on again hehe.
Mind you am not very keen on the Wrap style.

The other thing that I found was cute beanie hats that still are found in the shops, no wonder it feels like spring and summer are so far away! Its not been a nice start to the year weather wise. But this spring themed daisy cosy beanie hat has caught my eye. It is so adorable looking. You can find it in River Island by the way.

A other cute bag I found was from Boohoo.com again. I find that place can be a hit or a miss but then I guess it depends on what you are buying however I saw this and thought it was super cute a Lavender shade back pack. I really like its colour and the over all style of it .

It would be pretty cool to use it as a school or collaged bag. And a nice change from the dull back ones. hehe.

To keep with the spring time pastel themes here I found this cute hair band. Which is rabbit ears with Daisy flower heads on the ears. from River island. Hehe its adorable and would make a cute hair statement and for a themed Easter picnic too.

There is so many cute things in the shops right now, its just a case of keeping a kawaii eye open.

Oh and don't forget about your chemists and make up sections in stores because they also have jumped into spring! With really nice pastel shades, colours and textures in nail polish and there is some really cute baby pinks in the blusher counters and sweet soft mints and baby blues for your eyes!
For example look at this stunning pallet by Barry M and its cute packaging too, Kyaa!

I do like seeing these pastels and spring themed items at this time of the year - it gives a bit of hope to warmer weather to come and I look forward to wearing more dresses and skirts in the year too. Have you already picked up your pastel shades in your own styles and fashions or are you looking for more bold colours and prints for spring?!

Kawaii is not just one type of Fashion or Colour Pallet

Hey every cutie, am sure that all of you know that ,Kawaii is used in many kinds of fashions.

source Google
But have you noticed it gets more of an association on more fashions than others, Lets focus on J-Fashions, There is so many kinds and many sub fashions. But have you noticed once  these reach out of Japan and slowly make their way to the UK there is  are only a few main ones that stand out and some even stay in the UK. Some times Trends come this way but they don't last as long as they do every where else.

source Tumblr

Am gonna pick a few like of Sweet Lolita, Fairy Kei and say Hime Gyaru. Okay so I may or may not have picked  some fashions there because they are all often have the use of Pastel shades.
It did not take long for then Pastel shades to also become kawaii, I have no issue with that at all. These colours and styles seem to be a bit more accepted in the alternative fashions and in the UK, But what about all the other  brighter

Fashions. I wonder if  and why they are being left out?
With so many styles getting more attention that other ones ,you often find these  Lighter colours will come up on a Google search more often and tagged a lot more on tumblr, than the other colours, I guess I wanted to share that Kawaii is not just one Colour Pallet or shades, its every shade and Pallet. Its also can be in every fashion and style.

source HawaiiKawaii
I wanted to do a post on more colourful , brighter and more Creative styles of Kawaii. Personally I wonder why many do not wear these sort of fashions -

Is it because the UK in fashion and in the public eye, is not very brave to stand out and be Brighter. Is it because we are to wear dull colours to work/school and get so comfortable that we forget about a splash of colour? Or are we scared to stand out from the crowd and be different? Are we scared to look like we are clown's escaped from a circus? Can we wear Kawaii and Bright Colours together? Maybe we are to mature to wear something that might look childish to on lookers which is why Pastels are easier to wear and not stand out as much.

I know am very lucky to be able to wear what I want  more a less every day but even I find I end up wearing darker colours at times.
source Goggle

But because I have made a promise to be more colourful in outfits and more kawaii maybe my post here might inspire you. Its also very easy to do is well ! But let's get some inspiration form the streets of Japan where I think we can at least pick a few ideas and adapt them to our own styles.

I guess most inspiration comes from Harajuku Fashion trends, then adapts its way into other fashions. I can imagen that there is new and wonderful ideas coming from there all the time. I love seeing the styles that are colourful in primary shades of colour (Red Blue and Yellow btw.)

There is lots of over the top and layering in some Kawaii fashions but you don't have to do this you can make your outfits kawaii in a simple way and can you can bring in brighter colours with this too.

candykisa.tumblr.com
Mixing styles together is so much fun too. What about Pastel shades with Street styles or Adding brighter tones to your normal Lolita wardrobe? Do you have any crazy accessories or items that you could easily use or even re-vamp to use. DIY Kawaii and hand made are a huge thing over in Japan fashions too.

What do you think? Do you think Bold colours will make a come back. Do you think Bright colours are Kawaii or not? What are your thoughts is Kawaii limited to only girly pastel shades or your imagination is the limit .

But remember , Wear what you enjoy wearing.

Stay cute or die trying!

Hey cute things!
I hope you are all well. Last November I took advantage of Black Friday thanks to online shopping and found a shop called Stay Cute or Tokyo Hardcore on Facebook.
Any way I was delighted to get my order in the mail today! This time of year I have so much coming in the mail from orders for Christmas form family or to family,Birthday gifts for chibi bean, stuff for the house and your daily stuff, that you use all the time and the I've just ran out of it stuff.... and  of course My own kawaii shopping for the blog - oh boy the post man is super busy!! No wonder am broke so quickly at midway through the month!
But hey once everything is out the way this month I can use next year to save up for a 3DS and a DSLR and a class I want to sign up for next year !

Ah the Kawaii Life its a hard one.*nods* So lets get on with my un-boxing from Stay Cute.

My Parcel took about 2 weeks to arrive to the UK. Which I more a less expected and it was easy enough to order.

I was a bit disappointed to find that my order was not really presented in some way, However the main thing is that everything was safe and sound in the box.   I was happy to get my order as I had been looking forward to it.

It was the slogan  Stay Cute or Die Trying that I thought was so funny espicaly when my excuse for every thing is '' Aww but its cute!'' And I say Cute and Kawaii all the time haha!

I got myself the very cute snap back hat, It has Stay Cute on it with a dripping style text and a really nice clash on the hat with the flowers. Which works really well together. The hat is really good quality and made well and looks great when worn with my normal hair and wigs.

I went for the top in a bigger size as I love my over sized style tops and you can layer them in winter to keep you cosy! I really like the top its got 3 quarter length on the sleeves. Again the top is made well and really good quality material and the printed texted on it is super clear.  And looks really trendy on and works well with the Hat too!It make a really nice overall look rather street like looking but still sweet and cute at the same time.  Over all am very pleased with my order.
I took a while to customize my wigs so that I had really puffy looking hair , so I might do a small video of that once I get myself a new tripod for filming.
