Hi there Kaila chan I'm very excited to have you be in my Blog interview,
I am a bit of a fan of yours and your blog!
so I am feeling a bit star stuck
*@__@*

Can you tell us when you started to reach your dreams and why?

I started to make a move when I finally took Japanese language lessons every Saturday during my sophomore year in college. I was just starting with my major subjects back then so it was really stressful for me but thankfully, I still managed to learn the basics of Nihongo. My older brother who has been living in Japan for almost 8 or 9 years would be biggest influencer in making me so decided that I should pursue my "Japanese dream". My family and I all witnessed how my brother established himself in a country so foreign and so out-of-reach for a struggling family like us.

He really inspired me a lot that is why even though I had to finish four years of university first (got my first Japanse visa rejected along the way), I really went 1000% in reaching this dream. I tried applying for scholarships, etc. but I failed all of those huhuhu.
We both come from a big family that had a lot of drama (my dad was fired from his job, my mom had illness, one of my brothers got severely depressed) and I learned and matured a lot from that.. and I guess you can tell that my darkest days as a child / teenage really shaped me to be this optimistic / "gambatteru hito" (always doing her best) person.
 I'm a tough girl!

^__^
(We are glad you are a tough girl with a kawaii heart  it makes you, well you <3 )

What inspired you to make a Blog to share your adventures?

Actually, I started Rainbowholic around a year or so before I went to Japan. I used to own another personal website (which I started when I was 14? 15?) then moved to Rainbowholic afterwards. When I was in college, I tried my best updating it regularly but my course (Advertising Management) really took all of my time.... so I thought I should just wait for the day when I could finally see Japan in my own eyes. After that, I had a lot of good experiences and funny discoveries here in the land of the rising sun and I couldn't stop sharing about those! I got a lot of positive feedback and those really encouraged me to bring Japan closer to my readers and make them feel that they are also with me with my photo-heavy posts.

What do you love the most about living in Japan and how would you describe it?

There are so many good things about living in Japan but what I love most about Japan would be-- safety.
If ever you accidentally leave your bag/wallet in a train or somewhere else,Japanese people in general would not even bother to take it home.. instead, they would return it to the train staff. Also, walking alone in the middle of the night is not a scary thing to do... if it were another place, you can encounter robbers, snatchers or even rapists..? "
@_@

What would you recommend to any one to go see if they went to Japan?

Of course, I would recommend them to visit HARAJUKU!! It's the most interesting place in Tokyo because you can experience traditional Japan by visiting the Meiji shrine and witness the latest fashion trends in Takeshita Dori.

(*Takes notes*)

What the most Fun DIY-Kawaii thing you have made and what was the most challenging ?

The most fun DIY-Kawaii / Kawaii DIY would be the Rainbowholic Kuruma-chan (Kuruma=car)!
It's craaaazy!

image belongs to Rainbowholic

(Here is a photo! I love this Car @_@)

I love your Kawaii wheels that you used as a project can you tell us more about it?

About the kawaii wheels / Rainbowholic Kuruma-chan, it's actually a big group effort between my brother + our friends and me.
Since I've been doing an all-out promotion for Rainbowholic, we figured we should do something people have not witnessed before.
My brother and his wife even went back to Philippines to purchase the cheaper reflector stickers / decals because having our own design / itasha made would cost us 500% more or something like that. For less than a week, we worked on the car every single night until sunrise (since it was so HOT during summer afternoons)… and after we finished it, we had a Rainbowholic Ruckus parade in Harajuku~!

Link: See HERE!

I heard your hoping to adopt a puppy has that progressed any further?

Actually, I was very disappointed because the small dog that I wanted wasn't available any more when I applied. :"( I'd still consider adopting a puppy in the future but it would still require monetary means and currently.. I'm broke (spent it on a Hongkong trip >_<). But yeah, I still dream of owning a chocolate toy poodle!!

(KAWAII!!!!!)

Aww I hope you get your Dream puppy soon!
What's the sweetest thing a Fan has done for you and the oddest?

All of my readers are sweet but the sweetest thing that one did would be sending me a package full of letters how I had inspired her + handmade goodies and souvenirs from places she went.
It was very touching that I weeped! Haha~

As for the oddest, I don't think I have received any odd gift yet.. :P

(Aww how sweet ^__^)

Who would you say your fashion inspiration comes from?

My fashion inspiration comes from many Japanese-related influences
(such as the kawaii character + oldskool anime culture).. also, whenever I browse through Japanese magazines such as Kera or Popteen, I also get inspiration from those.
My fashion style is very moody so for me, it's a bit hard to tell where I really get inspired from.

What up coming projects can you share with us?

The new Rainbowholic website that I've been preparing for a month! Watch out for that since I'll be doing the coding on my own :D

(Is excited to see this,Maybe you could revamp my Blog..hehe)

Is there any other places in the world you would like to visit?

I would love to visit Paris, Seoul, Bangkok… and the list goes on! I plan to travel around the world someday =)

What your animes and mangas at the moment?

I started ONE PIECE a few months ago but I had to pause it for a while because.. it's bad for productivity hahaha.
I used to read manga's but now, I love watching Korean dramas and movie's more (yep!).

What fashion trends do you predict that may reach over my way?(UK USA EURO)

I think that tattoo tights would be the next big trend there (haven't seen many Western look book-ers wearing those tights).
(You know I think we will be seeing those tights very soon too!)

Where do you see your self in the next few years?

In the next few years, Rainbowholic may become an actual brand / shop here in Tokyo. Seems impossible but every dream is an insane one anyway. Hehe~

And what other Dreams would you like to reach for ?

I would love to become a creative entrepreneur or a boss of my own in the future.
My ultimate dream is to go home / travel every now and then without worrying for my air plane fare.

Thank you so much for giving us some of your Kawaii time Kaila-Chan,
I am really looking forward to all your new adventures!

You can all keep up with Kaila aka Rainbowholic giving her some Twitter Love and catch up on Rainbowholic Facebook.

Stay super Kawaii

Fluttering Lashies

So a week or so I entered a Twitter contest with Bourjois UK.

I never have much hope in myself when it comes to these things but  was 100% shocked when I got a DM (direct message) from them!
Yes.

0___o
I won a prize!
I won the fake lashes I asked for to go with my new rock out hair cut and the new Bourjois fancy Tweezers for applying lashes they have.
My prize came super fast and I got the Rock chic ones.
I Really like the style of them and there is a few styles,I already have my heart set on the lace ones!

These are what they look like so pretty!

The smoky eyes are pretty but I may get the lace ones for my Fairy outfit  for halloween!
I love my rock chic ones (sorry don't have a photo will get ones for you soon!)
Easy to use and easy to tailor to size and light to wear.

The Tweezers is also really smart.
I use a lot of lashes with my outfits to this will come in handy a lot!
I have used it lots of times on other lashes too,They are fab for holding the lashes and adding the glue as well as for even just picking them out the packet,Many a times I have lost lashes from getting them out the packet.

TT__TT

So the Grabby end is from holding the lashes and its angled to make it easy to take them up to the eyelids, the other end is like a angled tip to help stick the lashes into place where they refuse to stay put.
Id give this a 10 out of 10.
Fab idea!
Makes life that bit more easy and I no longer dread putting on lashes!
You can find Bourjois online in your local Boots and Superdrug.

^__^

I cant wait to get the other lashes!
Rock on Bourjois ,I LOVE your products, swear by them!

Whats you most loved High street make up brand?
I would love it if you shared.
Im a huge Bourjois Fan and a bit of a Barry M fan too.

With these lashes you have the cutest Eyes ever!

Tartan Neko Maid

So I got my new wig last week...
I felt rather brave getting a Bright Blonde wig.
I never ever had blonde in my hair even as bright a blonde as this one.The wig I got was form the Lock Shop,Can not recommend this Store enough,More so know sadly Dreamy Stores has shut down.

TT__TT

So I will be so I will be most likely shopping at the Lock shop as I get most of my wigs there anyway.
It was interesting trying to pick a outfit to go with my new wig as I had to tone down on harsh colours of make up which is something I'm not used too,I also teamed it up with my new Kitty Ears with pearls on them and with my new Plushie Called Happy Kitty and transformed myself into a Neko (Cat) Maid.
I wore a off-brand Black and white JSK with a blouse and my hand made maid apron that I use a lot hence why there is a few marks on it from all my cooking and baking,That I do!
^ ^'

Happy Kitty is so cute and soft. Can you see the pin badge too?
Nyan Nyan Nyan!
Review of wig from Lock Shop,
The wig is lovely and soft to touch,The fibres are silky and smooth,The wigs are so easy to look after too!
The service is great no hassles and the postage is good too.
The Store owner seeks out only the best for the quality of the wigs and you in safe hands with the Lock shop. You also get a complementary Wig cap with your order.
The Blonde colour is like a light bleach platinum blonde that fades into a powder pink.
The Wigs are light to wear and pass for real natural hair.
You can also cut in Bangs/Fringes or thin it out to a side swept look which I did.
I love this fun cute wig!
^V^

I ordered my Happy Kitty after finding the page on a group and feel completely in love with the Happy Kitty.
I had to get one and at such a great price!
There is also a ton of SUPER KAWAII KITTY goodies in there shop!

Kimich Kawaii!

Have you checked out Kimchi Kawaii?
I found them in a facebook group where there is a bunch of Kawaii creative artists. So I thought it would be nice to introduce you to Kimchi Kawaii's Owner.

Tell us a little about your self :
''I've been running Kimchi Kawaii for 4 years now. Started it off with mostly my designs and then branched out into crafted items which caused me to start a sub brand called Frosted Fleur de Lis. Cause you know, working a full time job and doing a side business for one brand wasn't enough!
I asked Kimich kawaii a few questions about their business adventures

There is a range of Goodies that Kimchi kawaii have to offer!

How cute is this bat...I may have bought it...
*SQWEEE!*

Jewellery, Charms and Kawaii Accessories
Click Here to buy in the mean time as they will be setting up a new online shop!
You can find the main page Here.

Tartan meets Kimich Kawaii Interview

Lets ask Kimich Kawaii some nosiy questions
*^_^*

Hello Kimich Kawaii can you tell us what was it that inspired you to build a business?

I've always loved doing art and knew it was something I wanted to do for a living. I heard about print on demand businesses like Cafe Press and Zazzle and figured that was a great way to get my designs out to the world.

What's the meaning being the Brand names? they are very usual.

My main brand actually used to be called Soy Happy. I was just figuring out the whole business thing and didn't do a search to find out if that name was already being used and it was. I was contacted by the trademark holder (very politely I might add) and I agreed to stop. I had only had it for one year at that point and my marketing attempts had all failed so I wasn't particularly attached to it. Plus, people were thinking it was a Spanglish thing since 'soy' is the first person conjugation for 'to be'. They thought I was meaning 'I am happy' and mixing languages. So then I came up with Kimchi Kawaii because I'm Korean and doing Japanese inspired 'kawaii' art.

Frosted Fleur de Lis was the winner of two names I came up with from me throwing a bunch of words together that I liked the sound of and making sure no one had the name already, lol! All I knew was that since most of my crafts are sweet/sugary, I wanted something that reflected that. I also had a cooler logo idea for Fleur than my other name idea

Wow that is so interesting!
What style would you say your aiming for in your products?

Definitely kawaii style. I kind of keep my Kimchi Kawaii stuff more simplistic and generally happy and full of bad puns. I like to make people laugh. Frosted Fleur is more pastel, sweets style, aimed at lolitas and people who just like sweet things.

What would you say inspires you the most?

People who can do their art full time inspire me - not just kawaii artists, any artist who has reached that level. That is my dream.

Where do you see your self in the next few years?

Hopefully, spending more time with Kimchi and Fleur and less time in the office at my full time job. Would like to be able to attend anime cons and sell at them all over the place, even different countries.

Do you have any hopes or achievements you wish to do with your business?

I think it would be so cool to be walking around and run into a complete stranger wearing one of my designs that they purchased from my online shop. My REALLY crazy day dream is that Gwen Stefani of No Doubt would like my stuff.
Seriously, I would just like my brand to be more recognized. It would be really fun to learn how to draft my own patterns so I could sell my fabric designs as Lolita dresses and stuff through Fleur (all I can do right now is put them up in Spoon flower and hope DIY lolitas buy the fabric as all my dresses are made using commercial, copyrighted sewing patterns so I can't sell my loli dresses).

Tell us then hats the most kawaii things you own?

^__^

Uh, that's a really hard question! I have some super cute plushies I got at some cons and online - like Kitty and Puppy Toasts, Mouse Bread and a super cute melon plushie.

Thank you so much for taking part of the Interview
Arigatou gozaimasu ^^

So many cute things!
Cant wait to let you all see my new batty kawaii ring!

Tartan meets the lovely Peach Nia

This is the 1st Kawaii Interview on Stay super kawaii, who I will be interveiwing Peach Nia a stunning lady with class and a huge love for animals. Please be gentle its my 1st ever Blog Interview!

*^__^*

''My name is Peach Nia
I live in the north of England with my lovely husband and furbabies.
I am a huge animal lover, vegetarian and love to make things!

Being such a huge animal lover I loathe animal testing.

I try to educate people about this kindly, without the horror stories or upsetting images, instead through kindness, love and education.

Being a crafty gal I love the idea of creating our own cruelty free products and living as chemical free in our home as we can.I adore making things, all manner of things and all manner of crafts.

I fell in love with all the japanese cuteness 10 years ago, the fake food with faces theme really captured me.

My crafts developed so much that I finally had my own website called dollyday.co.uk selling my cute handmade jewellery of fake chocolates and cupcakes etc. I loved it. Sadly due to illness I had to close my site so now I tend to create for friends and family and recently make things for charity which I love.

I like to dip my toe in as many crafts and give them a whirl.

I can sew, sculpt clay, use resin, crochet and knit although I am a begginer in the last two.Through my blog I also adore to promote other women and companies that really inspire me with their creations.''

Hello Peach,Thank you so much for being my 1st Kawaii person to interview!

*^_^*

We would love to get to know you more can you tell us more about your furbabies?

I have three gorgeous moggies (Cuba, luna and Oreo)
I have two amazing Chihuahuas (Captain and Levi) They are my babies.
I don't have human children but I feel I have my furry kids and spoil them rotten!!

They have taught me a lot about love, forgiveness and compassion and how to play!
They astound me, they have such a zest for life and endless love to give.
We can learn so very much from animals.

How do you do your part to help all animals and their charity's?

A portion of my Husband's wages each month go to our charity The Dog's Trust, a wonderful organisation that helps a great deal of dogs get rehomed.
They never put a healthy dog down and I love the amazing work they do, the education they give out all for dog's health and happiness.

I give to the PDSA, which is a very special charity that helps people on low incomes with vet treatment for their animals.
There are PDSA hospitals dotted around the country and all funded by donations, no government help, so it really is super important to help them.
Without them the people on lower incomes could not afford to take their pets to the vets, so those animals would suffer, die or end up in a shelter, so it really is close to my heart to help them.
What I would like to do is create a line of goods (handmade) where all the profits made go to these charities I have mentioned and more animal charities. I would love to fundraise too. I have a few ideas. I'm just getting started.

In What  other ways can we do our bit to help animal Charity's?

I am a big advocator of using cruelty free products.
I won't go into details but animals are tested on in such vile ways!
;~;
So I use natural ingredients in my home to clean it, like Vinegar, bicarbonate of soda etc.
I make my own products many times.
I educate others about it on my blog and I support The Hadwen Trust, a very special trust that fights for humane non animal medical testing.
They do such fantastic work, really worth giving support to, if you care for animals.

Tell us, when did you start getting into crafting?

I sadly fell ill with Fibromyalgia a decade ago, so couldn't work. I have a very active mind so crafting was a pefect way to occupy my mind/hands and keep me out of mischeif!
Clay and felt were my first mediums. I made all fake food related items, like cupcakes, chocolates etc.

When was the 1st time you came across the word Kawaii and when did
you fall in love with Kawaii fake faces with Kawaii expressions?

I first came accross it (the word kawaii ) about 9 years ago online, along with "sweet lolita" and "Japan" etc, I then found out all about the wondeful cuteness of Japan, with all the sweet "food with faces" fake food jewellery and sweetness of fashions, which at the time was a huge relief from all the over sexual images in popular culture.
The sweet ruffles, cute smiles, knee high socks, it all was very "me" I fell in love with it all. I didn't want to look "sexy" I wanted to look "cute" It aligned with who I was perfectly.

Do you like any anime or anime films?

I love Anime! My favorite is Spirited Away...My Neighbor Totoro and Ponyo. I have a lot of anime I am yet to see though!
I find the animation just beautiful, real eye candy and the stories are magical. They are a great way to escape into fantasy worlds. I just adore them.

Tell me what is your favourite Colour?

My most favorite colour is turquoise. I love it as a hair colour, in clothing, to look at I find it very calming.

Where do you see your self in the next 5 years?

In the next five years I would be thrilled if I had created a line of handmade goods for charity that sell well.
I would love to be doing very well with fundraising.
I would also love to be moved to Brighton by then too.
I would love to be illustrating by then.
Whatever I do and wherever I am in five years.
I and sure it will be where I am supposed to be.

Oh my you are going to be very busy then !
What would you like to achieve one day and what's you biggest Dream?

I have many dreams! I would love to be able to illustrate, be a graphic designer.
My passionate dream is to really make a difference to animals somehow.
I want to make a difference in the world!

Peach you have so much passion for your animals, nothing makes me sad hearing about all those Kawaii animals have no voice to stand up to the abuse and treatment they have to go through.
TT_TT
So Lets give what we can to some charity's that Peach Nia Supports!

Studs Spikes and Skulls

Studs, spikes and skull are all back in fashion!
Good news for you Kawaii Rock chicks!

You can find them every where!

Its a personal love of mine this look, with being a gothic lover at heart,But there is some thing rather cute about this look, more so the over sized t-shirts and floaty ones.
Prints that mix  flowers and skulls with simple prints.

Even Crosses are in with prints I love this sleeveless shirt  its more white/silver and black and its got a long length at the back to team up with some cute leggings.
I could see a lot of j-punk inspiration coming from these trends.

I also think this is a great shirt I wonder what would it look like under a Gothic JSK in Lolita?
Also Come across some Great accessories that Ive found ,again I think these are cute!
I may even buy some of this stuff and explore it with a mix of different fashions and see what can be created with them.

I love this Stud collar!

I'm not a big fan on hooped earring but these are so cute with baby studs all a round them.

A very Spiky yet sweet bracelet and quilted stud necklace

I Personally thing this trend has a more gentle touch with the use of shape the spikes are not bulky the studs are not tall in height,They mix both metallic colours of warmth and cold on colours and the prints are not all huge making them smaller has given them a softer and cute look.
All these are stock from NewLook which you can find online and up and down the UK.
I also gather up enough guts to go into a salon for the 1st time in years and got a new hair cut.

If only I had lots of moneys to buy it all its all so pretty, yes my taste is rather bi-polar when it comes to fashion.
haha!
I may look hard on the outside but I am Kawaii to the core!
I also love my new hair cos its very easy to look after as my hair cant handle being long,as its very weak.
Also I have got a new hair on the way!
But I will be review it later once it comes.
Till later

Panda Fashion!

Panda Love,I do Love my Pandas I have a few tops and even some cute ankle socks of panda faces on them.
Panda's are Kawaii!
So I had a bit of fun with my cute new Panda top I got from New Look.It was about £8,

I match it up with some leggings,a panda necklace from jiji kiki and a Old pom pom hat and my Dreamy store wig Blackcurrant.
And also do not forget Tare Panda!
Im glad to say I managed to get this top in my size and it looks lose fitting,I can not stand tight fitting tops, its really does no one any justice.Unless you are a size -6 or summit.
>__<
I am considered a plus size in model terms!
WT?
Any way,
All the shops are bring out Nerd glasses Tops and Moustache prints. You can find them on leggings woolly jumpers, know At the start of the year I saw all of this in the east in fashion and yup looks like we have all jumped on the wagon of these prints,Though I have not seen many folk wearing them apart from us who follow the east fashion trends.
Crosses are in as well as my own personal love of rock/punk chic,Lots of that in the shops.
And lots of Leather!
So if that's your style then get out shopping,Also make sure you shop about foe your Accessories,You can pick up 'in' Trends on Ebay with ease.
Like I saw a Moustache ring on sale for £10 in a retail shop.

O__O

Ouch!
I soon went to a few kitsch online shops to find it at £8,£5 and then on ebay for £2.00.So yea I got it as well as a Pearl Neko head band colour of gold for only £4.00 I will be using it for Halloween this year I think.
Any way there is a money saving tip there for you.
Till later's

A Sunshine Daisy Model

So a wee while back The lovely Lady who runs The Sunshine Daisy on Esty was kind enough to let me model for her Esty shop.
So I got to work picking out a outfit and such and was very excited to have lots of fun on shot with the items.
Unlucky for me and the photographer the camera battery died on us,Leaving us a bit gutted and lack of photos, then Photographer has some Dog issues with the family pet falling ill and extra shift needing done so the finished work took a bit longer.
We have decided to re-shoot and become very creative with out next date to do this also but here are the Photos showing off the Kawaii Products!

Dollicon Shop Review

Oh Wow I know have 50 Followers on my Blog !
Not bad if I do say so myself!
I have not blogged as much as normal due to lack of time and modelling on the side but I have a nice Entry for you all.

Many a time I've seen a few Facebook share and links have come up on my news feed.
I also was Tagged in a photo of a cute necklace and got a sweet message about this online shop so I went to have a look at the web site.

This Online shop is called Dollicon,Its very new and they do not have very much on the website its self how ever they do update all the items on the face book.

The picture I was tagged in was a photo of a cute pony necklace.I really liked the colours so went ahead and ordered it.
It did not take very long for my order to arrive even though it came from China.

Its a adorable.
*^_^*
It reminds me of my love as a child of my little pony.
It came in Pink Blue and Cream with little jewels on it on a Blue Chain.
So Kawaii!
I got a good positive customer service and the young lady that makes her jewellery and is so sweet and very helpful..
The web site is clean tidy easy to use.
Their Facebook is Clean and tidy.I love the way they show case the Jewellery in the photos.

Oh so Pretty and Kawaii!
I have found a few other items that are so cute so may have to look into them.
So a big 5 star Kawaii Rate for Dollicon.

You can find them here at the links
The BRAND NEW Dollicon Website!
and
Facebook!
