Kawaii toy photography

Hello every cutie , today I thought ,I would show you some of my Kawaii toy photography.
I only have 3 models at the moment that I used and a few toys here and there, I have been playing or toying with the idea for a while and quite enjoy doing it. Also it a good way for me to experiment with edits and creating images. Am self taught so please excuse any bad images or edits ...
I hope that these images and photos will improve over time as I learn.  At the moment I only have 2 Hatsune Miku's and a Madoka to play with and a few random other toys I team them up with.

So please enjoy~You can find more photos at my Facebook page  .

Kyoto Friendship Gardens

Located in Scotland you can find a touch of Japan . Lauriston Castle has a area on its grounds that is called the Kyoto Friendship Gardens. Once I found out about this Place I had to make a small trip as its not that far a drive from me. I packed up my Camera Kit and set out to get some interesting photos.
Unlucky for me I was still to early for the most of the Sakura's to blossom, some are still bare. Or maybe I have missed them am not quite sure but the Garden was lovely enough to explore and enjoy.

It did feel a bit strange, Like I had stepped into a piece of Japan. I would like to go back and try and get more creative images, As for the cherry blossoms I was pleased with the images I captured.

Dee-con 2014

Hello every cutie!
Last Saturday was the day of the Event of Dee-con. Scotland's largest Free comic convention. I went to the event last year. It was my 1st ever convention. And because its near by I decided to get myself along to the event.

Since last year I have connected more with other like minded convention goers so I was very lucky to share my Train journey with a sweet Lolita .

My outfit was Black shorts in a dungaree style , bunny knee high style tights with a Heart Blouse and blue blazer and red cat ear hat with Red matching High tops. Thankfully it was not a rainy day for the event just a few showers here and there.

The Event did not Start till Noon and was located at DUSA Union. Which was a mere 5-10min walk away from the Rail Station. The Event covered 5 floors. From Artist Alleys, Retro Gaming, Card Gaming and merch-stalls. It is way to easy to spend to much money at these conventions. How ever I was very good and only spend a little amount of money.

When we arrived we were stopped by a local Photographer who wanted to take our photos. I was only wearing a simple but bright outfit and was rather shocked to be asked. I agreed to have my photo taken as did my Lolita friend. Both together and on our own.

As we got near to the main building which housed the event, the queue was intense. It must have double back on its self a few times. We must have been in the queue for 10 mins waiting and then a further 10 mins getting in to the place.

It was packed,As soon as you walked in. I explored all the levels and checked out the stalls, The Artist Alley is the bit I like a lot and I picked up a few pieces from the same artist as last year.  The Lay out was a bit more flowing than last years apart from the lowest level, for some reason its so packed up.
I found myself standing for 5 mins trying to move,I have no idea why this happens even last year it was packed and you felt stuck and unable to move. I retreated to a higher level of seating area to get some photo's.

Outside was the best place for photos. Am sure a lot of cosplayer's took this as a advantage to get some photos take of their outfits.I really should have hung about outside to meet more people and snap some shots.

I noticed there was much more going on this year than to last year's. There was a great atmosphere too. I spotted many Lolita's from the local community, each one was dressed so well. I noticed and recognized some cosplay.

Overall it was a good day out, its a great convention for any 1st time convention goers. I do regret not getting more photos and footage, but there is many more conventions to come. I did not stay till the end but there was also a after party for later in the evening.

During the day there was some  Anime films being shown that you could go in and watch. There was lots of Arcade Games to play, Table top Games were set up  and even some retro ones. A area of Games development and even talks such as '' Being proud of your inner Geek.'' Also there was a Kendo Performance Display and a Cosplay Masquerade and competition . So You could easily stayed on till the early hours of Sunday with the after party!

After my attendance of Dee-con I went into Dundee city itself, I spied some other con-goers walking through the city shopping malls still dressed up. They got many strange looks from on lookers.

Dee-con is a good sized convention, its nice to have a convention near by. I would say its a great convention to attend for your 1st time and then a great way to meet up with others who have the same interests. Its a nice way to ease you into the cosplay and convention world. Once you get the bug for it, that's you hooked. I was waved down or called over to say Hello or for a chat by many kawaii readers and folks I know of via facebook and on my blog. I was so shocked by this and quite overwhelmed. Every one I met was lovely. I look forward to next years and for my upcoming events. I hope to see some of you again and meet new faces of Kawaii! So watch this space!

How to make your Room Kawaii!

Hey- Hey every Cutie!
Today I am doing a Kawaii-How-To.

How to make your room Kawaii!

Lots of us like to show our kawaii sides with decoration and displaying our cherished items. And these often end up in our bedrooms. Or maybe you want to give your room a cute make over.So today's post is How to make your room Kawaii. Don't worry I will guide you on some ideas and tips for making your new room look kawaii!

  • The very first thing you will want to do is tidy your room, work out what you are keeping and throw out/ recycle any rubbish or clutter. As for things you no longer wish to keep. You could put them up for sales on ebay and or give other stuff to charity. It is best to get everything clean and tidy. Its easy to work around a tidy room than a messy room- haii!
  • You may wish to paint your room or wall paper it for a complete new look this is optional. Picking light colours will also help small rooms look airy and bigger. Or why not paint one wall a cute shade in a pastel colour as a feature wall.Likes of lavender, pinky or mints.
  • If you cant or are not allowed to paint your room, Or wish to have plain coloured walls. Adding a pastel shade roller blind or curtains will help bring colour into the room. Or Find some cute Fabric you like and use that to hang on the walls
  • Keep your furniture in light shades that give off a cute look and airy feel to the room.
  • If you you wish to display photos or pictures on you walls, put them up with blue/white tack that way you can chop and change your stuff around.
  • If you want to be extra kawaii and creative why not obtain a blank cheep poster frame/picture that you can add lots of Kawaii things to it.Thing's such as stickers, images printed from the computer, photos, cut outs, inspirations and you can even use Washi tape to decorate it too.
  • Decorate your bed instantly with a cute throw over with a cute character in it such as Hello Kitty, Rilakkuma or any of your most loved characters. Or even Pick a cute duvet set.
  • Instantly cheer up a empty chair with a Plushie or cute pillow/ cushion. Pillows and even soft toys can make your room look super cute.
  • Bring more light into your room with fairy lights, why not wrap them around you head boards or run them along some shelves.
  • Find a cute rug in colours that will match your room that will give your floor/carpet a new lease of kawaii life.
  • Decorate you things.Such as adding cute and small toys to the top of your computer monitors or PC towers. Will add Charm and Kawaii-ness
  • Display the things you love,That will bring Cute-ness to any room by showing your passion.  May it be using a cute cupcake stand to display your jewellery or empty jars full of  trinkets even finding a display unit for your kawaii collections.
The most important thing about your room is not about filling it with tons of Japanese, Kawaii and cute goods, to out do any other Kawaii love/collector/ fan but to fill it with the things that you love. And Display or Express your creative fun cute side in your own personal space and enjoy it.

Hello Kitty prize!

Hey every Cutie!
Guess what, A about a week ago . I won a contest by The cute shop, an online shop that has lots of kawaii items mainly Sanrio and other kawaii characters and you all know how much I adore miss Kitty chan. It has so many cute products, I have shopped with them in the past and there is so much to look at.
Anyway I thought I would see if I was lucky and entered the contest give-away. You could win some items for your kitchen, My kitchen is the least kawaii room in my whole house lol. So I thought, how cute would it be to have so kawaii in my kitchen too.

So I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted to say I had won some Kitty prizes! Yay
I got my prize sent to me in about a week it was with me , I was really excited to get my prize.

My items came in a cute pink bag and were well wrapped.

The apron is so cute and fits well it has ties at the back. This is the image on the front of it and its says ''Kitty's room is full of fun and play.'' I have worn this 2 times and it has 2 front pockets on it very , its very light weight and pretty.

Also in my prize was this super kawaii oven mitt. Its so cute and fluffy with Kitty and a rose decoration on it on the outer side and the quilted side. I have used this mainly for holding the hold handles from my posts after they have been used to boil water. Its very handy to have and cute in my kitchen -Kawaii~

Lastly I got a very sweet hello kitty dish/hand towel , It has a cute decoration to it and very is very soft. I like how it is a nice pastel shade of pink and is so pretty. I use it more of a hand towel in my kitchen.
Over all the products are very good quality. Also I was given a gift discount in my prize gift. Yay! So I have ordered a small amount of goodies from a Kitty range I love the most. I am very excited to get them.
I hope you like the review of my prize goods.

Kawaii is not just one type of Fashion or Colour Pallet

Hey every cutie, am sure that all of you know that ,Kawaii is used in many kinds of fashions.

source Google
But have you noticed it gets more of an association on more fashions than others, Lets focus on J-Fashions, There is so many kinds and many sub fashions. But have you noticed once  these reach out of Japan and slowly make their way to the UK there is  are only a few main ones that stand out and some even stay in the UK. Some times Trends come this way but they don't last as long as they do every where else.

source Tumblr

Am gonna pick a few like of Sweet Lolita, Fairy Kei and say Hime Gyaru. Okay so I may or may not have picked  some fashions there because they are all often have the use of Pastel shades.
It did not take long for then Pastel shades to also become kawaii, I have no issue with that at all. These colours and styles seem to be a bit more accepted in the alternative fashions and in the UK, But what about all the other  brighter

Fashions. I wonder if  and why they are being left out?
With so many styles getting more attention that other ones ,you often find these  Lighter colours will come up on a Google search more often and tagged a lot more on tumblr, than the other colours, I guess I wanted to share that Kawaii is not just one Colour Pallet or shades, its every shade and Pallet. Its also can be in every fashion and style.

source HawaiiKawaii
I wanted to do a post on more colourful , brighter and more Creative styles of Kawaii. Personally I wonder why many do not wear these sort of fashions -

Is it because the UK in fashion and in the public eye, is not very brave to stand out and be Brighter. Is it because we are to wear dull colours to work/school and get so comfortable that we forget about a splash of colour? Or are we scared to stand out from the crowd and be different? Are we scared to look like we are clown's escaped from a circus? Can we wear Kawaii and Bright Colours together? Maybe we are to mature to wear something that might look childish to on lookers which is why Pastels are easier to wear and not stand out as much.

I know am very lucky to be able to wear what I want  more a less every day but even I find I end up wearing darker colours at times.
source Goggle

But because I have made a promise to be more colourful in outfits and more kawaii maybe my post here might inspire you. Its also very easy to do is well ! But let's get some inspiration form the streets of Japan where I think we can at least pick a few ideas and adapt them to our own styles.

I guess most inspiration comes from Harajuku Fashion trends, then adapts its way into other fashions. I can imagen that there is new and wonderful ideas coming from there all the time. I love seeing the styles that are colourful in primary shades of colour (Red Blue and Yellow btw.)

There is lots of over the top and layering in some Kawaii fashions but you don't have to do this you can make your outfits kawaii in a simple way and can you can bring in brighter colours with this too.

candykisa.tumblr.com
Mixing styles together is so much fun too. What about Pastel shades with Street styles or Adding brighter tones to your normal Lolita wardrobe? Do you have any crazy accessories or items that you could easily use or even re-vamp to use. DIY Kawaii and hand made are a huge thing over in Japan fashions too.

What do you think? Do you think Bold colours will make a come back. Do you think Bright colours are Kawaii or not? What are your thoughts is Kawaii limited to only girly pastel shades or your imagination is the limit .

But remember , Wear what you enjoy wearing.
